Went to Apple today to get a new laptop and was chatting to a 'Genius'. He said this was their biggest launch yet, and that pre-orders were all sold out within 15 minutes (wonder if they started the clock when all browsers and the app were working!).
He may have been exaggerating a tiny bit (don't let the facts ruin a good story) because people who ordered close to 09:00 and probably some after that are likely to get their gadgets on the 19th.

Vodaphone

Has anybody pre ordered with vodaphone? Has anyone got further than stage 2 of 4 "order accepted?"

Many thanks

I wish I got that far! I upgraded over the phone at 8.20am and have not one email or text confirmation.

Rang CS today and all they could say was that I would get an email soon. They said my order was taken on the backup system when the ordering systems were down first thing Friday AM due to demand. This meant there was no email.

They did say I was still due delivery on the 19th and I wouldn't get bumped down the queue because of their issues.

Could come from anywhere really. What was the last thing you pre-ordered that shipped from Ireland? Ive never had anything from there.

Pre ordered iPhone 4s and 5 and they originated in cork, they ship them in batches to their Ireland headquarters/warehouse and sent them out from there.

Last year my 5s came from China but there was no pre orders.

This year there are pre orders which means they are probably going to start shipping on Wednesday night because they are already in the UK.

I was told in the O2 store the other day they won't be arriving in store till Friday morning.

Delivery set for the 19th here!

Anybody know when we can actually start tracking these things?
Depends on where they are coming from. If it's China then tracking should start tomorrow, if the phones are already in Europe then they will only start moving on Wednesday/Thursday but tracking information might be available before then.

Hi guys! Long time lurker, first time poster! :)

I pre-ordered a Space Grey 64GB 6+ through Vodafone, got my confirmation at 8:17am on 12/09. Was a nightmare ordering through the website at work, the combination of a crappy website and crappy wifi made the process horrendous!

Got the unltd mins, unltd txts + 10GB of data plan, £58.50 p/m and £99 upfront, but I do get a 20% discount through my employer. The netflix rebate and spotify sold the plan to me as I'm already paying for both of them as it is.

My brother pre-ordered through EE in-store today, he has a friends and family discount from when I used to work for them so pre-ordered the Space Grey 16GB 6 with unltd mins, unltd txts + 2GB for a whopping £24.60 p/m and £99.99 upfront. Lucky bugger.

I've said it up thread but all my preorders come via Syncreon in Hinckley, most recently an iPad Air but my 4s and 5 too.

Haha, I couldn't find the thread since it got stickied!

In my experience, all my pre-ordered iPhones have been shipped on the Thursday from Apple's UK fulfilment centre and delivered on the Friday.

I'm assuming the 'preparing for dispatch' orders mean your phone has been placed in a box with a shipping label in the warehouse, and its just sitting there waiting for it to be picked up late Thursday.

I ordered at 8.50 and have a 3-4 week wait.

When it says Dispatched, more than likely last Thursday night or the VERY early hours of Friday morning.

Ahh okay :) Let's hope we can start tracking them early next week! I swear I was able to track a mac I bought several days before it arrived!

Same, also makes a lot of sense this way.

Macs ship from China even for preorders but due to the volumes involved with phones and iPads the first wave typically arrive on pallets. Other folk on this thread have had preorders direct from China.

More likely its at the UPS depot already waiting to be dispatched.

Reading is my closest Apple Store. Does anyone know how their stock situation usually is during release week? I'm looking at getting a 64 GB white (gold or silver doesn't matter) 6. Second closest would be the one in Sheperds Bush/Westfield, which I assume will be more difficult?

Got my serial number:

Nice Name:
Family name:

Group2:

Production year: 2014
Production week: 36 (September)
Model introduced:
Memory - number of slots: Please tell us how many memory (RAM) slots this machine has.
Factory: F2 (China, Zhengzhou - Foxconn)

Should be between 1-7th September

Mines is exactly the same. Week 36, F2 - Zhengzhou factory.

My current iPhone 5S was also from the F2 factory

Remember it's coming from china, so surely it should dispatch monday/tuesday? And at the depo's by Thursday?

Last year the batch my phone was in shipped from China at the beginning of the week and stayed in Cologne for two days then left Cologne Thursday night and was delivered to me before 1pm Friday.

I think my 3 order is delayed (no confirmation and I've missed calls from the upgrades department twice)I 'm going to see if I can use it to my advantage and get some discount for the inconvenience.

If not I'll cancel my upgrade and see if I can nab one in a store on Friday. I still have my order from apple due Friday so I'm in a position where it isn't the most annoying situation for me.

Exactly the same as mine, same phone too! :D

Not sure, that's what I was wondering, I think you were the only other person I've seen on this thread with the C3 Factory..

What time did you order?
