FAQ

What time do pre-orders start?
Pre-orders started at 8:01am BST on Saturday 12th of September.

Should I pre-order from the desktop store, or mobile app?
Typically the app is more stable when pre-orders first start, compared to the desktop store.

Can I reserve for collection in store?
Yes. On the iPhone page, simply select the phone configuration you would like (e.g. a 128GB Space Grey iPhone 6 Plus) and select the 'Reserve to buy in store' option.
From there you can then check stock at your local Apple store and select a convenient time to purchase your phone. Please note that if you do not pick up your phone by the designated date and time, your reservation will be cancelled and your item will be returned to stock.

Will my order be delivered on the 25th of September?
If your confirmation email says "Delivery: 25/9 in most areas by Standard Shipping" then, yes you should receive your iPhone on the 25th. However, if you live in certain post codes your order may be delivered between the 28th of September and the 1st of October. To see the affected post codes and their estimated delivery times please check this page for more details. If your confirmation email says "Dispatched: 2-3 weeks" please use Apple's estimated delivery dates as a guide for when you should receive your order.

Is there a limit to how many iPhones I can order?
Apple typically imposes a limit of ordering 2 iPhones per Apple ID.

Will my order be delayed if I order a case/Apple Care with the iPhone?
In the past, people have experienced delays in receiving their orders if they order any accessories along with the phone. It is recommended that you order the iPhone separate to any accessories to avoid the potential delay.

Once I pre-ordered, Apple placed a hold on the funds in my account but released it a few days later without taking the money. Is there something wrong with my order?
When you pre-order from Apple and pay by credit or debit card, Apple will place a ‘hold’ on the amount with your card company. This checks you've got the funds, and stops you spending them. However, a hold only lasts a few days, after which time your card company will automatically make the funds available to you to spend again. When you see this happen, it is nothing to worry about, it DOES NOT mean Apple has cancelled your order. Apple will not take the money out of your account until the day of shipping.

What courier will my order be delivered by?
Apple typically dispatches orders with UPS and Syncreon. If Apple uses a different or additional delivery courier, then I'll try to note how you can track it once more information becomes available.

My order has been shipped with UPS, how can I track it?
On your order page there will be a tracking number starting with ‘1Z’, simply copy and paste it into the tracking box on the UPS website and it should display your tracking results. Please note that tracking numbers may take some time to become active.

My order has been shipped with UK Mail, how can I track it?
If your tracking number starts with '309', enter it into the UK Mail Tracking Page. Entering your post code is not required, however if you do enter it then you'll be able to change your delivery date or select to pick your order up at your nearest depot. If your tracking number doesn't start with '309', select the 'Customer reference' option and then enter your tracking details along with your post code. UK Mail should text you with a one hour delivery window, and you can view delivery progress online.

My order has been shipped with Syncreon, how can I track it?
Enter your 'Delivery Number' in the 'Order No/Delivery No' box on the Syncreon tracking page, and your Apple order number (starts with W) in the ‘’Web Order No’’ box. If your tracking number starts with '309' you will then be able to track it to delivery on the UK Mail Tracking Page. Please note that tracking numbers may take some time to become active.

Is there a link back to last years UK thread for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus?
Yes, you can find that thread here.

Good lord. Is it that time of year again already?

It is indeed! :)

Usually I'd hold off a few more days before making the thread, but I seen that Spigen had their cases up and thought we'd may as well start our annual discussion! :p

I saw the Spigen case's as well. I have sent for one which is dispatched next week, so I should have it for when I get my new phone.
Which one did you go for?

I went for the Neo Hybrid in Carbon, have the Neo Hybrid for my 6 Plus

Anyone going to brave the stores this year or just wait patiently for an online order?

The 6 release was pandemonium last year.

I'm currently on Three's All-You-Can-Eat monthly rolling contract for £28. Sold off my 6+ last week and waiting for a new 6s+. I'm more inclined towards buying the phone outright and continue using the old call plan. You guys reckon that's a good idea? (Relatively new to the UK and not very comfortable with the 24-month contracts)

@TC, thanks for linking to the last year's thread...that gave me a good idea of what it was like here in the UK last year this time around :)

Will definitely be ordering online, hopefully they'll have enough stock this time around that the Plus models don't get sold out almost instantaneously.

I'm currently on O2's £20 a month simplicity tariff with 2GB 4G, unlimited texts and calls. I looked on their upgrade page and they now offer 4GB for £19.54 per month or 7GB for £23.80 - so will probably switch to one of those.

Thanks for the tip, just ordered a gunmetal Neo Hybrid, should go nicely with a grey iPhone 6s :)

Which you go for?

Think I want the crystal clear case

I went for the "Neo Hybrid Carbon" in Gun Metal :)

I'm toying with the idea of getting a plus this year...not sure if it's too big though.

I originally got the 6 last year, and swapped up to the Plus in December.
It took a few days to get used to, but now the 6 feels tiny :p

I have a 6 at the moment. I had a go with a 6+ the other day, and am now sold on it, so will be ordering a silver 6s + when pre orders start. Hopefully next Friday.

Hopefully will be able to reserve and pick up in store like last year.

Will lock in a trading price for my iPhone 6 on Tuesday.

I recently got a new 6 Plus and bought the Spigen clear light plastic back case. When it came, it said 6 / 6S on the box, so hopefully this case will fit the 6S Plus.

When is everyone selling their old phone? I'm going to wait until I have the 6S in hand.
