Just been to the Apple Store in Glasgow and it was well busy. Traded in my old 16 pro and got £500 back for it as expected. Also treated myself to the new ultra 3 in Black and traded in my old Ultra. What a Saturday morning. Back home now and ready to set up my new watch

Have tried customer services but they don’t open until Monday. Not sure if it’s still sitting in the taxi or where it is! Finally got someone at Apple to at least understand what the issue is. Thankfully I have ring footage of me talking to the taxi driver and him saying he can’t leave it and walking away with it.

About 5 mins, choosing mobile data in watch settings seemed to push it along

6 hours later I still have no service, they did say to allow 24 hours so hopefully by tomorrow it will be up and running.

Is the sim showing in the watch app as activating or not in use? If it says not in use then click add mobile plan and this should start it activating.

Ah that’s not too bad if you can re-use the passport/driving licence picture from previously.

I just don’t want anything relying on anything to do with the old phone.

Saying not in use, when I try to add the mobile plan it just says connection to server was lost.

It should not be doing that; either the phone/iPad has a defect, or the charger/cable needs replacing.

My iPhone 13 Pro has always done it whilst charging for almost four years and I’ve never thought anything of it.

In NI DHL just delivered both phone and watch. Phone was still saying with third party.

Just turned up. Had been returned to dhl and been delivered by them. Delivery driver said he was getting double time for working today as there were still so many to deliver

Nope, no indication whatsoever that it was coming. Seems to have been completely shambolic by DHL this year

I treat it as an insurance policy. Maybe there will be a time when I only have the Watch or the phone battery is dead or something. (Highly likely in the case of my new Air, lol.)

I imagine lying bloodstained at the side of the road having been mugged for my Air and having no way to call for help. With my life slowly slipping away, I rue the decision to not get the mobile plan for my watch.

You see, if you bought the Pro Max and slapped a rugged case on it, the thief would be weighed down so much you could easily catch up with them.

They don't warn you about this design fault with the Air.
