Weird. I sent my watch on on Monday, I think.. got the confirmation of refund yesterday and got the credit note last night.

You should track the package and see whether it was received or not. Did you have the tracking number?

Royal Mail cocked up so the tracking only shows for when the trade in box was delivered to me. I can’t track it to the trade in inspection place 😞 I only know it’s on the way because of the Apple Store app! 😖

Not UK but Skandinavia. Still waiting for my iphone pro silver. Ordered it via one of the phone carriers here. Was 4-6 delivery date estimation when I placed the order (14 sep). Now its 3-5 weeks estimation. It really sucks, apparently this happens every release for the pros. Apple for sure keeps us waiting to build hype is my conspiracy theory atleast

Apple does not artificially constrain supply, that is completely counter-intuitive.

What happens is the carriers over-promise, get you to sign up to a multi-year contract, and then fail to deliver on time - by which point most people suck it up and wait.

I haven't had a carrier-provided phone for many years and never will, for this reason. They are all incompetent and sleazy when it comes to delivery promises.

I took a photo of the return label so I have record of the return tracking number for the Royal Mail website. I also requested a Certificate of Posting when I dropped it off.

I wouldn’t worry to much, it can take a few days for them to process trade-ins and I believe as it is Apple who supply the returns postage they take responsibly for any potential losses.

Apple trade in in the UK is limited to £100 - regardless of the amount of items in the box.

I found out to my loss when an apple watch went missing via Royal Mail. Likewize (the company who deals with the trade ins) only coughed up £100 compensation.

So for future trade-ins I purchase my own shipping + insurance.

Yikes, that's a little "high risk" for high-value items if that's the only insurance/compensation they offer. Do they state this anywhere (is it buried in the T&C's), as it seems a little underhand not to make more of this?

I used Timpsons / music magpie for mine this year. Money was in my account less than 15 mins from leaving the shop. Costs £10 but saves paying for special delivery. Topcashback should pay £20 too.

Not sure why they would not have enough devices if they do not constrain things like production or distrubution but I digress! They probably have their reasons.

The carriers where I live are not like that at all. The one I use I have been happy customer of for 15 years. They also state clearly from day one the delivery will take up to 4-6 weeks so they are upfront too. I just thought it was just a rough estimation depending on Apple but turns out its not that rough of estimation lol.
Its not their fault Apple seem to not send them enough devices but again I should not get into that as this is a thread for UK :) Just frustrated thats all😅

They have it buried deep in their T&Cs on the likewize site.

However, I've traded many items with them and only had this one issue. They always paid out promptly in gift cards.

All are welcome. Just let it out. Offload it.

Is it correct that you cannot return an iPhone to Amazon if you’ve used it, that you have to return it unopened and unused?

I traded in my 16 pro max on Saturday directly to Apple and there was no movement on the Royal Mail tracking for 3 days which worried me. Contacted Apple and they asked for the email receipt which I provided and shortly after they approved my full trade in amount. My feeling is the parcel shop or driver must have known it was a phone and stole it.

If you have used it, and return it back marked then I would presume Amazon could send it back or charge as they will carefully inspect due to fraud?

I wouldn't do that anyway as it leaves a red flag on your account.

Open it, inspect and if it's not for you send it back unused... do not use it for 13 days or you run the risk.
