11" 256 wifi. Looks like I'm in the minority here of what everyone is buying.
I also pre ordered through Costco. I'm not really in any rush, I am coming from an ipad 6 and the screen is not that important to me. A couple of months ago I looked at the 12.9 thinking I might want that and was kind of exited about it until I thought about what I use it for and remembered I use to have a 12.4 Samsung Tab Pro that proved to be bothersome to carry around after a bit.

Managed to get the education store to work, after thankfully only a single round of the disappearing from the bag issue some people reported.
I had been tempted with the idea of going for the 1TB, but even if iPadOS 15 does bring some fun stuff that makes the 16gb ram useful, it’ll be September by the time that‘s available, ie a third of the way to next year’s model, so I’ll jump next year if it’s worth it.

I want to try out the 12.9 and the XDR screen, if it’s too cumbersome (due to size) then it’s going back and I’m sticking to the faithful 11”

I’ve been tempted by the 12.9 since it first came out, but never really tried it. Now with the fancy new screen, I’ll give it a go.
If it does feel too big, back it goes, and I’ll keep the 11.
Regardless of which one I end up keeping, it’ll be a substantial upgrade from my current Air 2!
I’m doing the same as I don’t want the keyboard 2 to 3 weeks before the iPad is delivered.
Well looking at delivery dates in the UK it’s looking like the 11” isn’t as popular as the 12.9”, all 11” versions still available for launch…

I didn’t expect the 11” to sell well. Who would buy it when you have a clear indication in the 12.9 that a Mini-LED version will be along. I see this gen 11” as the equivalent to the iPad 3 which only lasted 6 months before being replaced with the iPad 4.
Just looked on sky mobile. 1TB version looking at about June.

I wonder if the wait times will be reduced if some people start cancelling their orders. It may be a bit overkill but considering I'm upgrading from my 2017 version, the 1TB 12.9" should last me a while.
I do hope Apple make use of the 16GB Ram, maybe pro apps like Final Cut, or even iPad OS15. I also hope that spending the money on the Magic Keyboard is worth it (I went with the white one, it looks so good).

Pre ordered 12.9 Space Grey 256gb WIFI earlier on today.

That’s the way it normally works. Money is normally taken at about the time of dispatch.
I’m guessing that the first wave of orders will be brought to the UK in bulk and then dispatched from Hinckley (I’m hoping) on the 20th for delivery on the 21st. Otherwise they’ll be dispatched from China about a week before and the money taken then.
I think the earliest scenario for the money being deducted from your account is around the 14th May.
I looked at white, which is striking, but decided against because of how it might hold up, not to mention the fact that I'm not sure whether it goes with a Space Grey iPad.
