I've got my 11 Ultimate and 13 Base, and I'm having such a hard time deciding which to keep that I'm considering keeping both, which is just stupid, really.

I think too be honest you won't notice any difference between the Samsung or Toshiba SSD!

    MBA 2011 11.6" Ultimate

I got mine the second the refresh returned a live Apple site with the new MBA's. Received it the very next morning, a MBA 11.6" ultimate (4MB Ram, 128MB SSD)…

Couldn't be happier with the setup… I have a 27" i7 iMac and an extra 27" LED which together with this MBA make me a VERY productive chappy :)

Seriously, I bought my MBA for day to day client work and am absolutely amazed at what this thing can do. I notice very little difference in everyday work (PPT, Omnigraffle, some image manipulation, multiple apps open - no slowdown anywhere!). I still reserve my iMac for serious 60MB image work but I would never have bought an 11" MBA for this.

    Love it!
    MBA 11" i5 - GeekBench score: 4663
    iMac 27" i7 - GeekBench score: 8963

Picked up a 13-inch ultimate from the Covent Garden Apple Store over the weekend. Replaces a mid-2010 15-inch MBP.

Loving it so far. Very zippy, and battery life seems pretty good.

What made you take it back Daza? Are you missing anything about the 13?

I'm totally struggling to make this decision!

basically i had the 11" 2010 ultimate witch i gave to my other half so when the new mba 2011 was released i thought ill like the 13" speck wise and for the extra £100 but having played with it for a thew days i really missed the form factor of the 11" lite small and slick so i went and swapped it for 11" i5 4gb ram and 128 ssd couldn't be happier plus i have an imac witch is catching dust my advice is pick the modle you think you like more and if you dont take it back within 14 days hope this helps:)

For those who have already got your airs, have you got the Samsung or toshiba ssds? I know it's not really going to make a difference, but it's really bugging me!

Why does it bug you? Do you fear your friends will pick on you if you have lower xbench scores?

Back on topic, I walked into the Apple Store in Regent Street on Thursday and walked out with a 13" 256 GB i7.

Samsung in both. And, you're right, the difference will be negligible for most people.

Daza, cheers for the reply. I've still got about a week left to decide so no rush! Love the 11, just not loving the battery life.

I intend to deceive my bank into extending my interest free student overdraft to £2000 so I can get an ultimate 11" ;)

I can afford it without an overdraft but I'd have to wait till January which I'm not interested in since my dissertation is an iPhone game and want to be able to work on it wherever I am :)

I picked up my base 13" Air at the weekend from the Glasgow Apple Store, replacing a 2009/2010 Macbook Pro 13".

Totally loving the increased screen space, weight, and performance. Not really any downsides vs the MacBook Pro apart from having to start watching my disk space (I had a 500GB disk in my MacBook Pro).

Picked up an ultimate 13" from bristol Cribbs Causeway last Thursday. Lovely machine. Doesn't feel massively smaller than my 2008 15" MBP, but I suppose it is noticable. Feels faster and battery life is 2-3x better :)

Anyone else getting quoted 2nd August as delivery?

Ordered an 11" ultimate on the 20th (last Wednesday), it wasn't shipped until yesterday (25th) and estimated delivery still says the 2nd August.

During check-out there was no option other than standard delivery, I even opened up a Live Chat to check, and the assistant was somewhat surprised the option wasn't there at check-out.

Either way, I'm not too bothered, but it just seems odd that people all around the world who ordered theirs at the same time (or later!) have received them already.

Ordered an 11" 64GB model with 4GB of RAM this morning, and have a delivery date of 8th August - 13 days away! I sold my late 2010 11" MBA this morning, so the upgrade is only costing me about £200. Apart from the backlit keyboard (which will be my first one!) and the i5 processor, I'm looking forward to having a Thunderbolt port, as I intend to get rid of my old iMac and eventually use the MBA with a Thunderbolt display as my only computer.

I ordered on the 20th for a 256/4Gb 11" 1.8 and it is on route. Quite a journey though:

Left China on 23rd, South Korea 26th, left Kazakhstan today on route to? Estimated delivery is 27th so they had better get a move on to achieve this!

If I recall correctly from my MBA order in December last year, Kazakhstan is the last depot before it arrives in the UK, which it probably will do very late tonight or in the small hours of the morning tomorrow.

Picked up a 13" Air base spec from the Metrocentre Applestore yesterday and although it has the Toshiba SSD it's a screamer!

It's much faster to use than my 1,1 MP, even with less than half the RAM. I haven't stopped smiling yet.

Oh, one more thing (heh), high def screen, mmmmmmm
