Holy sheet that's fast! What area are you in?

My best DL was 5.9Mb in West Midlands.

I'm in the north east in a medium size town (not even a city lol). Im really impressed with the speed. When my landline broadband contract runs out it will be under review lol. :)

Well you must be very lucky to live near a mast! Thankfully, I get up to 38Mb broadband speeds over Fibre here, but if yours is slower than Three then I would definitely consider going 3G Internet only! How consistent is that speed though?

Also, you may find that their mobile broadband packages provide even better results.

The speed varies between 7-10mbs avg. I think the mast is only up the road. It's true if I got their new HPSA+ dongle (and when next iPhone gets the full 21mbs) it will only get faster.:)

The dongle is only £17/mo for 15GB/mo (24 months) or the MiFi is £19/mo for the same (paying £48 in total for the device).

Now as far as I know, this is far better than most non-fibre home broadband deals. Sounds like a steal assuming the data is sufficient enough.

They upgraded in a few months back. :)

Then you should be good for about 14Mbps from an iPhone 4S and probably something similar from a dongle (although I've not looked at the specs of those for a while).

It's a bit of an embarrassment that a mobile provider can give you higher download rates over the radio interface than BT can manage with ADSL. I get around 4Mbps from my broadband.

It's true. When we finally get LTE in this country going to get even more crazy.

Anyone seen Three's definition of 4G, out of interest? "With 4G, you'll be able to get speeds of up to ten megabits per second which is up to six times faster than 3G" http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI...t_cat=signal,varset_subcat=3804,Case=obj(4040)

As a follow up to the previous post about 3 mobile data speeds.

I received my 4s last Friday and they also upgraded the 3G data network in my area.

I'm now getting the result shown below, which is over 8Mb a sec. Not quite the theoretical 14, but pretty good.
I only get up to around 6 meg on three's network, which is faster than the copper broadband in my area :) , but 10 meg is just mad :O
