UK Thread- Which network will you get IPhone 5?

Three network had unlimited data allowance-and is known to be the fastest most reliable network and one of the cheapest.

T-mobile seem to have started to have unlimited internet allowance too but they have poor reception since they have merged with orange their calls go to voicemail majority of the times.-rubbish network-and overcharge.

O2- they cap on data usage 500Mb or 1gb depending on tariff.can be expensive.

Other network people hardly buy-or buy coz they have been with the network for years.

I'll be on Three because of the unlimited data and tethering but if you don't want tethering, Giffgaff is worth it.

I'll probably stick with 02, although they annoy me sometimes. I can't see me going back to 3 again (poor network and customer service). Vodafone always seems to come across as an expensive network.

T-mobile I've not used (apart fromwhen Virgin used their network), but they did used to bother me with unsolicited phone calls so that's them out. I may consider Orange though, they were my first network I used. I moved because they didn't offer me a decent upgrade.

Probably O2, to anyone on the 3 network, what's it like in terms of signal etc?

Their customer service had improved and is still improving greatly.

They have a specialist iPhone department that handles calls regarding any ofyour iPhone issues.

Three have only had the iPhone for about less then 2 years.

I'm assuming you have never had iPhone on three network as u r still thinking on staying on O2.

You won't regret three on the iPhone.

    Speeds are fast,unlimited allowance.
They sort you out with freebies free top up etc unlike other networks if you have had problems

    Report from ofcom.

Three has better coverage then the rest and they are adding and improving on new towers signals all the time.

02-have cap-are slow-check the amount of complaints from O2 customers on link of similar thread on previous message.

Three AIO Plan is all you need when it comes to the iP5 as you get unlimited tethering for upto 5 devices and access to Spotify Premium for the duration of the contract. :D

I'll be sticking to O2 as in Sheffiled they have already activated their 900mhz 3G band and speeds have been pretty sweet and consistent.

Recently paid the ETF to end my Vodafone contract early as it truly was the worst network ive ever had a smartphone on. Constant mast problems combined with god awful customer service and slow data speeds.

3Three have a poor signal where I live so I tested their data out on my iPad and wasn't impressed with their speed. I'll take O2 capped 1gb per month lightning speed over an all you can eat trickle.

As for tmobile and orange... Meh

I had a Nokia on 3, I agree they are better than 2 years ago. O2's cap isn't bad for me, I rarely use anywhere near the 500mb so I doubt I'd need unlimited.

02 gives me the best network signal and 3G coverage where I reside and work so it's a no brainer for me !!

With iPhone 4 having the hotspot feature you can connect upto 5 devices via Bluetooth and use the unlimited data speed is reasonably fast too that way way more then 1gb data you will easily use in a month.

Better to future proof-you may realise you need to extra data

Gonna be buying it unlocked from Apple, and use it with my ongoing contract with Vodafone. I've found them to be the best after trying O2, 3 and tmobile/orange

Tesco Mobile, they rent O2's spectrum I believe. £20 a month, unlimited texts & Internet. That'll do me nicely.

I'm sure there is probably a "fair usage limit" but I use about 2/3GB a month, and I've never been charged over my standard £20.

My company uses Vodaphone. The extra expense is worth it for the reliability and customer service we enjoy. It's not for everyone, but it works for us.

Being based in London most of the time I'd probably go with Three for the free tethering as well as the unlimited data allowance. I'm with O2 at the moment and I've only hit the 500mb cap once. Oddly enough I received the warning text that I had used 80% at 3AM and then the text stating I had used 100% about an hour later, but thats the only time I've reached the cap.

I'll most likely switch because I have no reason to stay with O2. Their coverage isn't much better than Three's for me when I'm out of London and the cap is an insult (if I want 1GB I have to pay more, how appropriate).

I've yet to consider Vodafone really, not too sure, but T-mobile and Orange aren't an option for me.

    I'm Going To Stick

With O2 been with them for years, and since I won't be getting my phone thru them, but will buy from Apple direct, see no reason to change.

I'm on a £20pm sim only contract with O2 so will just keep that and buy the iphone outright again. Bit of a hit paying for it upfront
:)eek:), but cheaper in the long run. Saved around £40 over the first 12 months with doing it this way for my ip4.

Hubby is on 3 and has a much better signal than me, expensive to use when abroad though.

I'll buy it sim-free and then get a 3 or Giffgaff sim, I want unlimited data. :)
