Apparentely it's going to snow tonight, today was also the coldest day so far this year (-6degC at 08:30 !). A day off from school would be great, soo much coursework :p

I am trying not to get my hopes up, snow is such a rarity here...

hopefully we will get some, we dont get enough any more - however it would be my first major commute in london with rubbish transport (sorry it is rubbish most of the time - make it dreadful) so i dont fancy that - but walking would be my alternative!

The weather reports have said that we may get as much as 15cm of snow overnight 'round my way, and the Highways Agency are saying not to travel unless necessary. Which means there is a real possibility of no work tomorrow.

Obviously I'm distraught at the prospect...

:D

Unfortunately, all my work colleagues live out of town so if there's a heavy snowfall there's the very real risk that I'll be the only person who actually turns up at work.

If that happens suffice to say I'll be very annoyed.

I walk each day, so i'm expected to go in regardless...hopefully I'll be sent back home though...

My widget tells me the temperature is -3degC, still no sign of snow, but there is cloud cover.

We have been predicted 4cm here. Are school is preparing to close if we do get any snow (first time in 10 years as predicted) but so far, no.
What part of Herts are you?? I'm in Bucks

I've already got my moon boots out ready for the walk to the office in the morning. I get the impression it's going to be a quiet one. Can't imagine many of my clients' staff will be getting in before midday :)

I'm in 'St Albania', the school closed two years ago for snow. When there was that oil cloud thing, it didn't close even though it is right above us :(
I was shocked when our head said that 'If there is snow, don't make too much of an effort to come in tomorrow' :D amazing...

Hmm... I've just taken a look on the Met office site and had a read of the Severe Weather Warning they've posted for Hull, and which actually seems to mention every area of the British Isles apart from Hull. No disrespect to the good folk of Devon and Cornwall, but your weather isn't that likely to affect my journey into work...

We've a 60% chance of disruption though, it seems, and it appears we can expect 2-5cm of snow. Bugger. :(

Nice. Our school closed because of Bunsfield. On the Sunday that it happened, i actually went gliding from RAF Halton and the Pilot was curious so we got aerial views of the fire. It was a great site. The amount of pulloution in the air too; there was a yellow band signalling the end of the polluted air and the start of clean

Is that RAF for CCF? That sounds so cool, but really scary at the same time

All our local schools have announced they are closing on Thursday, even though we haven't had a single flake of snow yet. My daughter is very happy!

The weather forecast looks promising though, I live to the left of Birmingham, so the rush hour should be interesting.

There is snow outside here 1:41am in Swansea.

Some Chinese outside in the image are discovering the wonders of British weather with some locals by having a snowball fight. (Taken at 1:41am)

I'll be working at home today just to avoid the inevitable 'signalling failures'. Can get far more done as well.

Why do schools close when it snows?

I got into work just now (from Surrey). Transport seems to be running fine, so far.
