at the moment the ocean band seems like its a distant third among the three for the ultra. Alot of you tubers are saying they dislike it and that its ugly however I believe that the true athletes (runners, hikers and swimmers) will choose this band as their activities band. Not that im hating on the youtubers but it does seem like most of them bought the ultra for the battery life. The alpine and trail loops are nice but who wants a stinky wet band to wear while they arent working out? I know most garmin users (whom apple is trying to get) wear silicone bands because they know about the horrible smell and the rashes that come with the non silicone material.

As a runner i want my watch as light as possible, so there is no way im chosing the heavy ocean band while the trail loop is much better for running.
Serious runners that are concerned with Watch weight are not buying ultras 😆 they are buying lighter watches all around (bands etc)

I’m a pretty decent club runner and much prefer the ocean band on my Ultra. The difference in weight is negligible and has no tangible effect on my performance.
I agree 100% being able to rinse the sweat off and go is awesome. I love the sport loops but just can’t get over the wet feeling or the nasty feeling of the hr monitor if I don’t want to wash the watch because of not wanting the band to be wet.

I'm a runner I guess, I run about 20k each week, and have done so for many years.

For me, all fabric bands are a no go. Since they are fabric, they collect water and body salts and become itchy quickly. For long runs in the summer, sweating a lot, fabric bands can even cause chafing.

I do not enjoy having a wet band for several hours after a run. The fabric bands are not great for any activity that will get them wet, just because they will wet out and wet your other clothes.

The best band for running, or any activity where I may get sweaty or wet, is the Nike Sport Band. It's very ventilated, light and feels great on the wrist. Wipe it off with a towel and it is 100% dry.

For my Ultra I ordered the Ocean in Midnight, I'll be getting the yellow one too because it's so darn cool. :)

I'll be using my Nike Sport Bands too with the Ultra, and sometimes my Milanese loop.

But I agree on that the Ocean band probably will be the best one for any type of activity out of the Ultra bands.

The ocean is unbelievably comfortable. It took me completely by surprise. It‘s great for swimming.

But, I just got back from a run and wore my tangerine sport loop. Much better for running because I can dial-in the fit.

When my Trail loop gets here (hopefully this year, haha!!) that will be what I wear for running or multi-sport.

Trail loop for me. I’m assuming it’s the same material used in the sport loop band. It’s almost a wicking material. The elastomer bands get hot and itchy when I run - any brand including Apple & Garmin. The sport loop absorbs sweat and stays cool. It’s also more adjustable since it has a Velcro stay. I think it’s why Apple says the trail loop is intended for runners where the Ocean band is for divers.

Agree that the Ocean Band is surprisingly comfortable. I may keep in on most of the time instead of the Alpine Loop that came with the watch.

The ocean band in the ads looks weird from a 3 quarter angle with the hollow tubes. I thought I wouldn’t like it. In person, on wrist it looks and works fantastic. I absolutely love this band. Much better than my Alpine band.

I’m rocking the ocean band after talking it off for the braided loop. Got it on the first loop though as 2 or more is too tight

The ocean band is something you can’t appreciate unless you wear it a day. Simple as that. It wears completely different than it looks. It like space age foam, it’s light, and easy on the wrist. Every day band for me cause I get my sweat on lol.

I love the ocean band. It’s light, it’s soft, it doesn’t make my wrist sweat, and when I exercise and do sweat it dries quickly as designed.

I can only wear woven nylon band, workout or otherwise, so ocean band is a No go because of the material.
If I only judge the look it’s not too bad, but initial Feel is not great.
