No regrets here! It's the best of the 3 and the only one that's easily cleanable and can be used for pretty much ANY exercise!

For me, the Ocean will be strictly for diving. It think its not very comfortable, and btw, I don't think the Alpine is either, and that has other issues.

Any 45mm band will be fine, and I don't see any need whatsoever to stick with a made -for-Ultra band. they aren't very comfortable. They are athletic bands. When is the last time any one has even broken a sweat other than being fat and sweaty?

Maybe the Trail loop is good? Probably not. Good luck finding that, anyway.

But the Ocean band is the best (and only?) truly waterproof option, and it's fairy comfortable.

Not an elite athlete here -- just a middle aged guy trying to keep his dad bod from processing any further. But I run on a treadmill and I guarantee I get more sweaty than an elite athlete will. Sport bands or solo loops are best for me, but I will also sometimes use a sport loop. Regardless of the band I used while running, it comes right off when I'm done and I replace it with something else for the rest of the day so it can dry out.

I've ran with the Ocean band, and I have to say, it was supremely comfortable and rock-solid. Not as easy to loosen/tighten as a sport loop (or Trail Loop, for that matter) would be but still much prefer it to the Sport Loop mid-workout.

I love the ocean band. It’s light, it’s soft, it doesn’t make my wrist sweat, and when I exercise and do sweat it dries quickly as designed.
Is the ocean bands similar to apple's regular silicone bands? If so, those make my wrist break out in a rash. I cannot wear them and it's definitely an apple silicone band not some knockoff brand.

Not including the Ocean band (which I don't know much about other than what it looks like), Apple has two different materials -- the sport band with the pin & tuck closure is a fluoroelastomer material, while the silicon solo loops are a "liquid silicone" (per Apple's webpage) material. I have both and they're definitely different in terms of feel, firmness and stretch.

Do they both make you break out, or just one of them?

I'm not sure if the Ocean band is one of the above materials or something else entirely.

The Ocean bands are a totally different material. I can't say that it will or will not irritate the skin in the same way, if that is a problem on the sport loops. The material is way softer and more pliable in basic stretch and just to the touch.

The Ocean Band is like a thicker sport band, but it’s easier to tighten up and stays on your wrist better than the sport bands, especially in water! Even if you don’t have the Ultra, I would say that this is a great band to get if you don’t mind the extra bulk compared to the sport band and want a more secure fit! The only time it gets uncomfortable is when it becomes a little too tight feeling from your wrist swelling, which is why you want to make sure you leave a little bit of room (just like any other band, for that matter)!
