That's not a thing that can exist. The oversimplified explanation is that Thunderbolt is more or less like the PCIe bus in a desktop computer.
If you intend to keep the 12" MacBook, save some money and just get a 4k display.
5K monitor though, only the newest version of the monitor had support for DP Alt mode. There are two versions of it - the newer 27MD5KL supports 5K (via Thunderbolt 3) and (via DisplayPort), and the 27MD5KA (older revision) only supports Thunderbolt 3. (All three versions of Macbook 12 inch 2015, 2016, 2017 do not have support for Thunderbolt.
If you have the original version, you cannot run these monitors using a DisplayPort connection at all. The old 5k version monitor will ONLY accept a Thunderbolt 3 signal.
