Ultrasn0w 0.93 is out

anyone know if they are working on a spirit jailbreak?
i have a jailbroken iphone using spirit.
if a different software comes out before spirit can i just jailbreak it with that while running spirit on the old FW or do i have to use my original backup firmware and then do it?
 
I installed Ultrasn0w .93 and rebooted my phone like it said. However it showed I had an update in Cydia. I go to Cydia and it shows that I needed to upgrade ultrasn0w to .93. Has anyone gotten this scenario? I'm on an iPhone 3G on baseband 5.12.01. I know they're all unlocked it's just weird I had to update it after I just recently downloaded it.
 
I apologize if this is a stupid question, but how does one know if it worked, been unlocked, once the device has rebooted.

My iPhone 3G is locked to Rogers. Right now I got 5.09 bootloader and 05.13.04 baseband. ultrasn0w went off without a hitch but I don't have any other SIMs to test it with right now.

Is it unlocked?

well it does say it'll unlock 5.13.04 so i'd probably say it does unlock it
 
i just tried this on my 3g on 3.1.2 JB'd using spirit, tried it with a vodafone sim and it didn't appear to work. could this be a problem with the fact i used spirit to JB? i'm just restoring the phone to try jailbreaking with something else, anyone have a recommendation?
 
So for the 90% of us who have a 3GS with 3.1.3 or 4.0 from the last 6 months this unlock announcement is worthless lol. If no jailbreak then unlock doesn't do jack, not sure why they'd release an unlock that can't be used on any device sold in the last 6 months. Odd.

Wouldn't it just be easier to restore back to 3.1.3, re-JB with the latest redsnow, then run ultrasnow? Better than trying some hack to keep the spirit jailbreak..

that's what i meant mate, i just couldn't think of the name of any other jailbreak tools. i keep getting error 1015 atm though so i'll leave it till the morning when i get a chance to restart

You can upgrade it

I have the same issue and I have 3gs with ios 4 running.
 
does ispirit fix the issue of the phone booting in to the itunes logo and cable on the 3gs? you have to plug it in every time in order to boot it.. what a pita

I am having the same issue, except when I upgrade it, and reboot the device, Cydia keeps saying an update is available. It is an endless loop. I have a 3GS with 3.1.3 baseband 05.12.01 and Spirit JB.

Yes I did. I had the GM seed for a little then I downgraded a few days ago cuz I wanted to re-jailbrake. Just installed ultrasn0w and popped my sisters tmobile sim in and it worked perfectly fine.
