iPhone 12 pro max has go no competition. It's just that things are getting tough for Mobiles in the market.
Are you serious? iPhones are STILL stuck with 60Hz displays, which is ridiculous considering how much the Pro models cost. And yeah, a 120Hz screen makes a big difference in how smooth and instant screen interactions are. The actual CPU performance between the two is not enough to even matter.

Unbox therapy talks out of his anus, the 12 pro max destroys the s21 ultra.

The s21 ultra is already having issues in low light and its ultra wide camera.

Cpu matters a lot, already exynos s21 ultra owners complaining about the phone overheating, when their doing 2 task at once they get booted out of the app and have to wait for the phone to cool down. 🤦‍♂️😳

A14 Bionic has no competition.

Users are also complaining that the Exynos S21 Ultra is having overheat issues when shooting video to the point that the phone is not usable. From what I understand, the Exynos S20 had overheat issues that never got addressed.

When it comes to battery life the CPU is very important. The Exynos 2100 is not as efficient for battery life compared to the A14. And 120Hz also effects battery life. Samsung has a habit of throwing more cores and larger batteries to compensate for inefficiencies that exist in their phones. Apple on the other hand always seems to be able to do much better with less cores and smaller batteries. Even though the S21 comes with a 5000mAh battery compared to the 3687mAh battery in the 12 Pro Max, the 12 Pro Max outlasts the Exynos S21.

The X55 5G modem impacts battery life. In a battery life test, it showed that the iPhone 12 Pro Max lasted an extra hour when the iPhone was forced into LTE mode. If Apple had added 120Hz the battery life would have suffered and people would not be happy.

Apple will probably add 120Hz ProMotion to the iPhone 13 (iPhone 12S?) which will also probably use the more power efficient QualComm X60 modem. And the A15 will also help with power efficiency.

But the camera system of the S21 Ultra is just so much better than the iPhone 12PM. That is one reason I bought the 12 mini. Even if I had bought the 12PM, the camera is still so inferior to the S21 Ultra.
That MAY be true, but it seems a bit early to make that statement. So few "real" users have S21s in-hand at this point.

Huh? Read the reviews from the major tech media...12 PM camera is more consistent and is just better. S21u is better at zoom...that’s about it. TheVerge, CNET, etc..

The review on the Verge states that the camera systems is a toss — some pictures come out slightly better on 12PM, some better on the Galaxy. BUT then they state that the Galaxy has the 10x zoom, which puts it ahead.

I am solidly in the Apple ecosystem, but while Apple took a big jump with the camera in iPhone 7, they have fallen behind Samsung and Huawei since.

LOL what?! When the 11 Pro dropped it obliterated everyone else and caught up and even surpassed even Google's Pixel line. On top of that, they came out with the Night Mode camera even surpassing Pixel. If anything, Samsung is the weakest link between the big three (Apple, Google, Samsung).

The iPhone is still considered tops in taking 4K video that supports shooting in Dolby Vision. The iPhone is also better at portrait mode vs the S21. S21 is ahead in some regards and the iPhone is ahead in other areas. Come September Apple will probably have improved zoom capability and if the rumors are true, use a larger camera sensor which will capture more light to produce better pictures/video.

I certainly hope so. I am deeply tied to Apple ecosystem, but I'm not happy with their camera hardware.

...and I thought the PM was too big and ridiculous looking. That Samsung is absurd, that’s not a phone, that’s a tablet. No thanks.
The Pro Max is big while having none of the advantages of a big phone. The Samsung S21 Ultra has 2 Telephoto lens, one with periscope technology. It has a maximum of 16GB of RAM and 5,000 mAh battery. It has full support for S-Pen. It has faster charging speeds. There are tons of UI optimizations for the larger screen.

LMAO!!!

16 gig or ram, still lags like dog balls, 5000 mAh battery, just keeps up with the 12 pro max which has a way smaller battery, in real world use the 12 pro max battery will destroy it,

When will people learn specs mean noting if you have a crap processor and crap software, both which Samsung has.

You seem like a reasonable guy with no fanboyish tendencies.

Sure am 😊 not fooled by gimmicks and specs, why on earth does a smartphone need 16 gigs of ram. 🤦‍♂️😂
If the iPhone had 16GB you would be praising it. When it comes to RAM I’d much rather have more than I think I’ll need. You think the Snapdragon 888 is a ‘crap processor’?

s21 ultra is a great phone and camera but where it struggles is portrait mode and obviously 12 pro max is better still for video. S21 Ultra zoom is amazing and I hope we get that on the iPhone next year as expected.

photo quality is very close some areas the ultra is better and other areas the iPhone.

Even with all the reviews still they don't cover photos of their kids and pets and of course moving objects areas where iPhone 12 Pro max is great at. Thats more important area for me than just stills of amazing buildings shots.

also this is Samsung's 2021 flagship so will see how it compares to the iPhone 12s pro max lol when thats out

So is Apple‘s phone. There are plenty forums on the internet discussing this issue related to iPhones!

have they? the 12 pro max was regarded by many as the best camera on a smart phone. they are behind in zoom but everything else they are as good as the comp.

Iphone is still strong in portrait mode, photos of pets, kids e.t.c.

The thing is iPhone doesn't need that much ram, hardware and software work together brilliantly on a iPhone, did I say snapdragon 888 is a crap processor no, just not in the same ball park, universe, when it comes to apples A series chips.

But Iphone would benefit from it and split screen multitasking as well...

Also we know how these 3-4 year old Iphones are and it's not that fast, they slow down and alot of that has to do with little ram to manager the bigger software Apple puts in them.

Why apple had to throttle to preserve the battery.

The s10 is still pretty decent to use, I'm certain the s20 will be pretty quick with 12gigs of ram for a while, The 21 is gimped outside of the Ultra so I see why Samsung threw the house at that.

Android phones are pretty close to pocket computers just not that well organized and simple as IOS but sometimes one thing gets boring and we want another.
