Nope, plenty bright for me. I'm using it at the office right now under many flourescent lights in the ceiling as well as a huge glass window behind me with no blinds. It's awesome!

Wow that looks like a matte screen although I know matte ones come with silver bezels. Is it as glossy as the previous models ? The picture sure makes you think otherwise !

Yes, the matte has a silver bezel. The difference between the matte and the glossy is outrageous! I was going to get glossy, but all they had at my local Apple store was the i7 matte (go figure) and my wife and I are extremely grateful that we were "forced" into the matte!
