It all matters what case u have on,otterbox symmetry is gonna hurt your pinky because of the hard plastic. Exchanged for a speck grip presidio 2 and it is 1000 times more comfortable. I have the standard 13 . Anything heavier would be a no go
Yep. Very good point mentioned, especially the cut outs for speaker and lightening port. Of they are sharp cut outs and not bevelled or whatever the term is. It's going to hurt .

Rounded edges are more comfortable but less secure in my hand, feels like I'm holding a slippery bar of soap. The squared edges don't bother me in the least, especially since my phone is always in a case anyway. If I was going to go caseless, I'd prefer the square edges.

Does you get used to holding the 13 (and 12, for that matter)? The flat edges, while aesthetically pleasing, doesn’t feel as ergonomic as the rounded shape of the 11 and older.

Yup. This is in the category of "you can't make this sh** up."

Apple creates a phone meant to be held, and what do they do? Make it less comfortable to hold.

They create a phone meant to be carried (often in a pocket), and what do they do? Make it so heavy that it feels like you have a brick in your pocket.

Steve Jobs has definitely left the building.

Look for a sleek case with rounded edge - this will solve some of your issues. I agree the flat edges and extra weight make both 13 Pro and 13 PM less comfortable to handle but I have found that the right case really helps. Velvet Caviar makes some sleek cases that are rounded off at a decent price but designs are for the ladies. Speck Presidio Grip cases are round-edges too and not too bulky.

The squared off edges are not an improvement IMO. Style over substance.

I was excited to go back to the flat edges of the 13 Pro Max from the rounded edges of my 11 Pro Max. Love the look, and perhaps there was some nostalgia for my iPhone 4s. I had lusted for the straight lines of the new iPhones but it turns out the rounded edges were much easier to hold and to slip in/out of pockets.

So while the rounded edges do feel better in the hand, its not that big a deal. Small potatoes compared to all the gains of the 13PM vs 11PM. 5G is awesome and MagSafe rocks!

Same case I use on my 13 Pro. Excellent design, grip, and negligible weight. Little white logo wasn't necessary but understandable.

I totally agree with you. This case has rounded edges which makes it super comfortable with a lighter feel…

€ 124 for a phone case... what are they smoking at the Bandwerk company??

The Aspen from Andar is another great case that makes the phone more comfortable to hold. Nice smelling/feeling leather with softer edges than a naked phone. Its also got an open bottom which is more comfortable than a lot of closed bottom cases.

Which iPhone do you use? Isn’t it better to go smaller (13 mini) and be happy about its grip and hold?

I have gotten to the point where i absolutely despise the flat sides/edges on my 13. I have tried three different cases for it and none of them make the phone comfortable to hold. Both edges just dig into your hand after awhile.

I will never buy another phone with flat sides ever again. I wish I had stayed with my iPhone 11.

Hopefully next model will be rounded again. At times I do agree that the flat sides are a pain to hold for long period of time.

I hope they don’t, because it means I won’t be buying another phone for a long time. I won’t go back to rounded sides.

I prefer squared off sides for aesthetics. I have a 13 so I don’t intend to upgrade for a long time. If the most up-to-date iPhone in 3-4 years has rounded sides, so be it. I’ll still buy it and slap on a case as it’s only a minor cosmetic difference.

I find all iPhones after the original SE uncomfortable to hold. Hardly anyone has a hand big enough to hold these new devices. I don't mind the edges, it's just moving your thumb up and down the screen which strain the hand which didn't happen with the SE. I have spoken to others who have the same issue.

The reason the original SE is so comfortable to use is because it’s small enough to fit comfortably in one hand and also because it has bezels. Without bezels, your thumb would struggle to reach the bottom of the screen. I wish Apple would make one more phone with the original SE shell.

Absolutely agreed, my 13 PM is nowhere near as ergonomic as my 11PM and Xs Max, in fact I think the Xs Max has the best body to weight ratio but unfortunately that meant the battery wasn’t that large.
