It's amazing that anyone would take the time to rage about Steve Job's turtleneck or the made up word "funnest".

Wow, so the guy doesn't like his bosses, his coworkers are lazy and don't care, and customers are annoying....sounds like every job ever. Seriously, it's retail, what did the guy expect it to be like, some magical land with dragons to play with and wizards? It's not like this guy was designing Apple hardware, he sold stuff to people, that's generally not a fun thing to do.

I read around 3 pages of it and none of his/her gripes had me feeling sympathetic towards them.

True or not, none of it seemed that bad and there are people out there with far worse jobs than that. Its hard to sympathise with someone who comes across as a prick themselves. ;)

Wow. I just don't understand why that recruitment video is 'kool-aid' when the whole idea of it is to encourage people, of course...! I do like the 'negative' edit of it though, purely from a comedy perspective :p

Seems someone was fired or just couldn't cut it and and has made a rather lame attempt at revenge.

Wow, there is someone in the world who does not like working in retail at the Apple Store and is critical of Apple products and business polices. I'm completely shocked and outraged they did not use itty-bitty shipping boxes when the opportunity presented itself. And we all know they sell crap products like the MacBook because no one is buying it.

As far as working in retail, do a serious comparison of Apple to any other retail store out there, like Hot Topic or Macy's and then tell me if the Apple store is relatively horrid. I have never worked in retail, but my son has and I believe the experience you have as a lower tier employee has a lot to do with the individual manager and staff. Is anyone surprised that there could be a much less than perfect store manager out there in any retail store of any name?

While I can't say for sure, this blog feels more like a personal vendetta and based on what I've read so far, it has no real merit.

It's an amusing blog. Not to be taken seriously at all.

How sad that fanboism blocks the funny in so many people.

You people need to stop taking jabs at Apple personally.

what a moron ... glad he does not work where I buy my coffee and donuts.

His parents must be proud of this fine citizen they get to spend Christmas with every year.

Hope this guy ends up pumping gas for the rest of his life

I found his blog entertaining and nothing more. If he wanted to be taken seriously there are far better ways, for example by being mature instead of acting like a 10 year old.

There are several laugh-out-loud posts in that blog, including this one on Apple's fastidious attention to Diversity:

reading threw it looks like the standard crap anyone who has worked in retail has put up with. I found it a little funny because sounds like Apple retail is just as bad as everyone else.

I know people who've worked at Apple as well as other retail stores. Word is that it all kind of sucks but Apple treats its salespeople with much, much more respect. That said, the least sucky of terrible jobs still sucks at times.

My experiences at Apple retail were generally pretty decent, although some of the things the guy wrote on his blog is quite sadly true. Like this:

I love the rules that aren't really rules, it's a joke.
We can't return opened box software.
    We can't return headphones.
    Customer needs to sign paperwork.
    You must sign out repairs.
All mobile device appointments must be done on an iPad or iPod touch.
MobileMe is only discounted when purchased with something else.
Onetoone is only available to customers who purchases a Mac from here.
You did not purchase the product from here, so we cannot give you your money back.
You need to book in for an appointment.
    Store closes at 9.

I don't understand why Apple made rules to begin with. In the end, the Specialist follows these "rules" only to have the manager say otherwise.

That is a lot of unnecessary rules. Apple doesn't need to control everything.
