I got the same problem now too, dont knwo how i didnt realize it in the first couple of days but its just as bad as the pics up above. Its only been 7 days so i guess i get to exchange it without any problems. Hope i get a good one this time.

Here i snapped a photo of my screen, hope you can see it as well as i can. Its getting worse by the second, keeping this machine isnt even an option anymore. So depressing, I was so proud of making the PC>mac switch. O well.

I have a strong feeling that this has something to do with the slight delay shipping of the 17". I'd wait a month or two before buying.

Thermal Paste?

We've seen pictures of some pretty poorly applied thermal paste.

Could it be that those MacBook Pros which display these problems have too much or too little paste applied on the GPU?

Okay I have an update. I called Apple support to start my replacement process. He said since I ordered online instead of the retail Apple store, I have 30 days to get it replaced instead of the 14 day thing, so we had some time to troubleshoot. I said OK lets do it. He had me do a couple of resets, and then I just needed to make sure to put it back on the 9600m after the resets. Its only been an hour so but it looks like it completely solved the problem. And for the record I had it as bad as any of the pics we've seen, and the issue would show up within a minute of minor video viewing on the web. After the fix I had 2 hd video streams going and a game going at the same time for about a half hour and no problems have shown up. It may come back, but this leads me to believe that it is a software issue that can be fixed. Hopefully we'll see something in the next few days. But then again I'm no expert. Sorry i dont have the exact series of resets he had me do, but if you call theyll talk you through it.
