"Man with 3D Printer Does Craft Project"

Holy mackeral, he used COMPRESSED AIR?!? Is this guy some kind of genius engineer? SANDPAPER? Wow, I'm glad we have a step-by-step report of a simple craft project done by a guy in his living room. But you left out what kind of snacks he was eating at the time!
How bad was your waking up today to be so furious about an article?

He used tap water? Might explain why it appears to be more translucent rather than transparent.

For wet sanding, which makes no difference what kind of clean water. The water is only there as lubrication and to keep the sandpaper grit from clogging up.

If he hadn't stopped sanding at 1000 grit... but instead continued to 1500, 2000, 3000, and then various polishing compounds, it may have had enough clarity to skip the varnish.

As far as the concept, I really liked the clear phone and pager cases of the 90's, but that's when the insides were more visually interesting. Today, all you'd see is battery.

What I would appreciate about a clear case is to no longer have those moments where I open up my AirPods case at my destination just to realize that I had forgotten to put them back into the case before leaving home.

I'd be interested to know what happened to the perfectly good original case.
