My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. Seriously though...what is going on with the software?! Can't blame supply shortages for delayed, buggy, or broken software...can you?
I've had the same issue. My solution has been to run the camera video in a PiP windowI can't wait for universal control! The new "feature" introduced with Monterey where streaming HomeKit videos are blurred when the home app is in the background is incredibly stupid - I can't watch my HomeKit baby monitor on my external monitor while working on the built-in monitor at the same time. I need to run HomeKit on a second computer instead...
5 devs who work hard, maybe includes The Hair Force One. Everyone seems slacking and chilling lately at their own home/countryside/cabin/whatever.Does Apple have only 5 developers or what
In all honesty, Apple should be doing that instead of pushing out mock ups during their promotions then saying "it's delayed". It just doesn't look right. Its public beta releases...
They should just do away with version numbers and do what Microsoft was doing. Spring feature update and Fall feature update.
Apple's software quality control is officially in the toilet. Is there any speculation as to why this feature is taking so long to get right? It... just doesn't seem to be that complicated?
What was announced at WWDC was a roadmap for the entire yearly cycle of macOS, it wasn't for 12.0. So if it comes with 12.2 or 12.3, it wasn't held back. If it comes with 13.x, then it was held back.Looks like Apple is still holding back features it promised it'd come out with. Come on crew - it's kinda getting old. These OS teases are more "Program Manager" specials now more than ever.
Releasing stuff before it is ready would be a sign of poor software quality control actually.Apple's software quality control is officially in the toilet.
Then why did they release macOS Monterey?Releasing stuff before it is ready would be a sign of poor software quality control actually.
That makes a lot of sense. Its public beta releases...

Surely these issues aren't surprising?120hz safari? Mem leaks? Basic features you advertised in your keynote?
In general, you're absolutely correct, but I think in the case of universal control, Apple said it would be released in the fall, so as of December 22, it is technically held back. What was announced at WWDC was a roadmap for the entire yearly cycle of macOS, it wasn't for 12.0. Actually I live in the UK and we skip autumn and go straight to winter.Pretty sure "fall" ends on the same date in the northern hemisphere, it isn't decided on a country to country basis. /s
Yeah the WWDC preview of macOS is useless now, because most "killer" features don't ship with the release version, and the brand new hardware you buy in September - the killer feature doesn't arrive till months later. In all honesty, Apple should be doing that instead of pushing out mock ups during their promotions then saying "it's delayed". It just doesn't look right.
