Another vote for Be, I've been with them since 2006 and they've been great - the only hitch is that they don't seem to be able to run stable DNS servers, so I use the O2 ones (which is the same network, bizarrely).

Be staff have stated on many occasions that they have no download limit and that their "Fair Usage Policy" is only there if somebody is downloading illegal content - but even then, Be won't pass on your info without a court order.

Great ISP, and I'd go with them every time, even if I didn't get the full 24mb that I do currently.

If you're outside their limited coverage area you can only get the O2 Home Broadband Access product though. It runs at a maximum of 8mbit/sec and is £22.50 per month (£17.50 if you are an O2 mobile customer).

They had some SERIOUS slowdown issues with this earlier in the year. I'm reluctant to recommend them but service before and since this time has been excellent.

I currently use TeleCity PLC they offer ridiculous speeds and truly unlimited downloads without any throttling. - Although it really doesn't come cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

I think they might offer a consumer package (can't really remember though) but if it's really that important to you they are a really good provider to go with (for the price)

I am a heavy user, but I can't understand how people can actually break some of these limits. I've seen people complaining that 50GB per month is not enough. That's ridiculous.

Companies like Apple, Sony and Microsoft keep telling us that the future is digital distribution. That's all well and good with music where an album is never going to be no more than 200Mb (not including lossless formats) but what about TV, films amd games?

There are four of us in my household and two of us are fairly heavy internet users. For us to not break our 50GB limit (with Demon) we need to stay below
approx. 0.83GB a day each. The recent 10.5.7 update was 400MB... an HD film on XBox Live is around 4GB... hell, even just watching a few shows on iPlayer takes you over our daily allowance.

I never worried about usage with Be and, at that point, I lived with people that were much heavier users than myself.

Thanks for explaining LLU... I had a slight understanding of the situation but your explanation has broadened that.
