Agreed. This thread doesn't belong here. More than a dozen posts about the Samsung, and only two posts remotely about the iPhone (aside from your raising the issue that this thread is in the wrong forum).

@OP: Please consider posting in another forum unless you are specifically making a point about the iPhone. I get that your title tells us that this thread is unlikely to be about the iPhone, but on the mobile version of MR some of us do not appreciate having to scroll through threads that aren't really relevant. Just sayin'...

Oops - I forgot to say that I hope that the OP enjoys their new phone.

I know and I understand. I still think that our apple community needs to educate itself about the top other OS phones. It gives us a basis of comparison for the next iphone.

True it does, but some dont want to see it and will never admit there is anything else worth getting. I do think it is time for Apple to give the iPhone a new design. Some will say it just works....and great, but im talking about the look. The face needs a new look. The glass on the back didnt work too well since it broke too easy.
The phone needs an overhaul and make it a little bigger. Things are just much easier to see on a bigger screen and it is very evident in the Galaxy S2 vs iPhone 4 video. though i can understand people liking the smallish style of the iphone right now. I wouldnt want to be any bigger than the newer phones are getting now. The Dell Streak is a joke its so big.

I don't have to much of a problem with the iphones size or screen it is beautiful. I think the OS is really old and boring, but it still does everything very we'll.

First let me say that I love Iphone I am just bored with the OS. I just got a Unlocked Galaxy S2 that works on AT&T 3G/4G and I have to say that the bar is set pretty high for Iphone 5. This phone is awesome.

I just want to know if i buy this phone for tmobile.. will the 3G & Hspa+ work fine?. Because i went into a T-Mobile store and the rep was telling me that unlock phones from Europe seem to just mostly run on 2G. I told him that the bands on the galaxy s2 from the uk are suppose to run fine with the bands on T-Mobile network in NY and he told me they would have to test it. Therefore, that's why iI'm asking my fellow galaxy s2 fans if you guys can provide me with a solid answer b4 I purchase the phone from clove.co.uk.... Thank you guys.

Changing of the guard in smartphone wars just like what is happening in the NBA Playoffs (Spurs, Lakers, & Celtics all gone). It happens. Out with the old and in with the new. It took three years until Apple got it right with iPhone 4. Android doesn't reach its 3rd birthday until this October. Android is really looking great this year and only getting better and more popular. Samsung Galaxy S II is just the second most important and talked about phone released in 2011 behind the HTC Thunderbolt. While Apple is too busy with releasing iPhone to another U.S. carrier or changing up the color to white, Android is kicking ass everywhere. Apple needs to get at it. Add an A5 chip to iPhone 5, and SGSII is still ahead at 1.2GHz dual core, bigger screen, and respectable battery life. The SGSII specs is future-proof for any imminent iPhone 5 release.

Again, specs are only part of the story though...for example I'm keeping my iphone 4 which I got in January as long as possible. I'll give the iphone 5 a skip but may be "forced" to get an iphone 6. I've invested in quite afew apps and games-who knows if they will still be suppported through ios 5 or whatever but still. I'd only consider switching if my apps and music (and I've gone to a lot of effort creating smart playlists in itunes for example) could be ported over smoothly.

I actually pre-ordered the device from handtec.co.uk and got it a few days after its release in the UK. My experience with handtec was pretty positive (they were pretty quick to ship the device).

Even though I love iOS (and the amazing apps), I was really getting tired of my old 3GS and didn't want to wait till the fall for the iPhone 5. So I bought an Atrix (for $99 with my upgrade), sold it and used the profit to help pay for the unlocked SGS2.
