Your attitude towards people asking simple questions sucks and it makes people want to go elsewhere.
People who are spoon fed will never learn to feed themselves. You see it as helping where I see it as simply enabling and reinforcing poor behavior. Thank you.

Then might I suggest simply not responding? There is nothing wrong with your beliefs, it is the snarky response that people don't like and thus don't respect. Your objective would have been met by refraining from posting.

Thank you for posting the links. It will help a person that does use the search in the future.

I am not quite as new as the thread starter on unlocking iPhones, but I think some of you have been around enough to have seen how long it has taken for people to find ways of unlocking the various new basebands... This is my first ever seeing how long the process of finding an unlock for a baseband takes...

Like the TS I am also on 03.10.01 and have been waiting for the ability to unlock for several weeks. Can any of you give me a sense of how long it has taken in the past for unlocks to be found for new basebands? I'm sure there has been a lot of variation. But are we talking an average in the ballpark of 6 months, a year, or what? Even if it's the case that some are found within a few days whereas others have taken a year, I would like to know. I'm beginning to feel like an idiot here but I'm loathe to go buy a low-end Android or something to yet a new iPhone in my country cost 672€ which I simply cannot afford.

Why would newbies want to come back? Simply put, if you don't have anything to say then don't say it. I'm an expert with well over 15 years in the field and I don't mind answering the same questions over and over. Stop being almighty and remember that you once didn't know where to turn.

thank you very much for that response. reading this forum makes me sick honestly. nothing but a bunch of snobs here. ''oh i am the almighty apple god you must bow to me newbie peasant'' haha. on the other hand, there are a few helpful people here and i very much appreciate it but it seems like the majority of the people here are a bunch of stuck up single 40 year old snobs who live with their parents that spend all night on the weekend in their virtual forum world instead of having a normal life.
