Well done for an ad that never shows the product, makes it quite the teaser. However the logotype at the end is not up to Apple standards.
Nice concept!

FAKE (probably)

This has to be a fake. As a student in digital arts it is clear to see that these are fake or someone that created this has a serious lapse in judgement, twice. In creating video there are 2 "safe-zones" because the edges of video that you create on a computer monitor are cut off due to how TVs project the picture. These 2 zones are called Title Safe and Action Safe. Titling outside the Title Safe zone are likely to be unreadable because of how close to the edge they appear on a TV. The I (apple) NY in both versions and the Coming June 29th in the 30 second version fall outside of the Title Safe zone.

I am not saying that these can't possibly be real but if they are then there has been some serious oversight on the part of the creator, advertising firm or Apple depending on who made the commercial.

Haha!

Sorry for laughing, but everyone already knew these were fake. Nobody's trying to pull them off as real. They're just spec spots.

It's not 'real,' hence "unofficial" in the thread title...

Nice advert. I dunno if it would work in 'the real world', but as something preaching to the converted I thought it was good.

I :apple: NY was a nice touch.

It's very nicely done but I fear the sequel will be the exact same people shot for shot saying stuff like 'It costs how much ?.." "for a ****ING PHONE?", "No way man you crazy', "I don't earn that in a month", "your Sh*ttin me".. etc etc..

Err only kidding btw - US pricing isn't too bad IMO!!..

Apple used that for MacWorld NY, when there was a MacWorld in New York.

nice. now I just have to wait for a year here in Australia

hhhmmm hu do you think they will use?? i havent heard of anyone, telstra, optus mainly hu are going to support it. maybe quite possibly hopefully fingers crossed itl be a free lance type thing!!!!! bring in your old simy :) omg how good would that be !!!!

Hah. It's funny because I'm actually staying in New York City for a few days, at the Doubletree in Times Square, and there is a Cingular store, oh excuse me "AT&T store" pshhhh, right across the street... It's not a very big store, I can't imagine what it's going to be like on the 29th.

I don't plan on being at ANY Cingular store on the 29th... or any date for that matter, lol.

don't apologize! your point's valid. and we the (diverse) people of Apple nation can roll with a poke now and then. funny!

ASL in the advert

As a Deaf person, I simply love the use of ASL in the advert. It was subtle and unassuming.

Is there something for Deaf people in the iPhone I wonder??

A great song, even if it gets sampled for all the wrong reasons.

Hmm.. I was just about to complain how its a bad match for the ad.. until watching it yet again, and the lyrics that kick in at the very end are pretty perfect.. however I think the whistling (which I'm usually a fan of)- tends to drone out the dialogue/dialect they are primarily interested in showing.

>>Love it, except for the bad fonts at the end... they should be a bit more modern and simplistic like the product they have been talking about for the whole spot.

That's the old I (heart) NY font - which is great. Nostalgia is good in a commercial (usually) especially a commercial that is focusing on NY and one of the things that draws people to the city. All in all I think its a really good spot.

That's an excellent ad. The first time you see it, you watch to find out what they are talking about. The second time, you know what the product is but you listen to the details of what people say about it. After that, you might still pay attention to enjoy the people and language variations.

An ad that holds your interest (so you don't instantly hit the fast-foward button), and tells you why a product is cool along the way, is a good ad.

Meh. I don't buy it. The portrayal of the 'real life' people of the actors in the spec seemed more smarter than any average person I've come across.

More smarter huh? ... all depends on the circles you run in I guess :p.

LOL... Isn't there a saying that says something like "tell me who you hang around with and I'll tell you who you are"? I've heard it in another languange, not sure how it goes in English.
