Spotify causes the problem for me

If spotify is on, I experience this problem. If spotify is off, I don't.

I attempted to fix permission issues as someone else had suggested. The fix had no effect.

Very strange. I've had the same problem since I bought my rMBP 13" (mid-14) but I've just "lived with it". I tried to shutting down Spotify (I didn't even know it was on), waited for the screen to time out, woke it back up and it loaded up directly, no black screen.

I have the same symptoms. I had this on Mavericks and then on Yosemite. Same symptoms. Black screen with cursor, and swiping between workspaces shows them during the transition, but then goes dark again.

I have previously had Creative Cloud installed, but had removed it months ago. I did have Spotify (though it was not usually open) and have removed this (and Deezer) to see if that will fix the issue. Will report back.
