Xiaomi called and wanted their Max branding back (The Mi Max model is currently on its 3rd iteration).

Seriously, the naming scheme has really gone crazy if this is true. It could have been so simple.
  • iPhone (6.1” LCD)
  • iPhone Pro 5.8” (OLED)
  • iPhone Pro 6.5” (OLED)
Done. Super simple and nicely mirrors the iPad line with both an entry level and a “Pro” level that comes in multiple screen sizes.

Just do like cars and use the year of release.
  • 2018 iPhone
  • 2018 iPhone Pro
  • 2018 iPhone Pro 6.5”

What does this mean? The smallest? The biggest extra small one?

Makes me think of Max Power. "He's the man with name you want to touch, but you mustn't touch! He's name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it, you mustn't fear, 'cause his name can be said by anyone."

Who ever came up with the marketing idea of calling a product XS as in excess or excessive should be fired! My wife already thinks what I'm paying for these damn phones and products is crazy, come on Apple get some creativity !!!!

This. Come on, it doesn’t take a genius. iPad and MacBook follow this convention, just do it.

The MacBook Pro comes in a 13" and a 15". But it is still a MacBook Pro. Same with the iMac.

Just call it the 2018 iPhone X. Comes in two sizes. Why does each size have to have its own name!

I'm sure it's premised on Apple pretending that people will actually call it "the ten s" (hint: they won't)

God please no.
Sounds like some cheap Android "Droid XS Maxx Plus".
If someone actually got this past the executives at Apple, they all deserve to be fired. Time for the board of directors to intervene.
