Isn't the tethering APN hidden and changing the general APN only changed internet access on the phone and not on the tether.
For example O2 Ireland have apn as internet
However if you tether it uses the apn open.internet
A lot of questions out there...maybe I can help some, I am jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.2. I had to do all of the above to enable tethering. I have not looked in about a week if there was a good jailbreak for 3.1.3 yet. I can tell you that update 3.1.2 locked tethering, and unlocking your phone unlocks the tethering ability. I can also say that benm is not the only site anymore, try this - http://appleguru.org/i/ - or this - http://m.peacefulinsanity.com/Tether
One last word, if not yet, soon. it will only get better. I will guarantee that you WILL tether again, just may be some time. Hang in there and good luck!
What about netshare? Is that working?
NetShare and iProxy don't work the same way. The don't activate the official tethering mechanism.
They just share their internet connection via WiFi.
So - yes they still work.
C.
K well that's good. Although not for me. Netshare hasn't worked for me since 3.1.Which really sucked because right after I got it I went for training for 3 months with no wifi
