Congratulations on your killer setup chrono1081. I am thinking about doing the same but have a few questions. Do the speakers work on both monitors at the same time? or do I have to choose sound output to come from one and not the other?. Care to shed some light on the matter? Thanks!

Awesome setup!

Out of interest where did you get your desk? I'm trying to find a nice one where I can fit my synths and 2 monitors (can only fit one atm) on it.

that looks like Ikea :) ?
we used to have setups like that ?

could be wrong :) but looks like it :)

Looks nice, theyre at a really decent price too...i mean for one of the 30" displays before you could almost get 2 of these guys with better display technology.

definitely thinking of getting one....or two :p

Great setup!! What 3d software do you use? Looks like C4D with a different palette arrangement?

Freaking gorgeous! What type of wireless keyboard is that and what is to the left of the keyboard?

The speakers will only play audio one monitor at a time unfortunately either through USB or mini display port (and they sound exactly the same). I haven't found a way to make both speakers play at once.

@Chrono... That's awesome... More pics! It's next on my list of updates... Swap out my dual 24s for the 27s :D

See attached ;) I had a 24inch ACD and 22 inch acer (just to hold me over) until these arrived. I don't regret the upgrade one bit!

The desk is the IKEA Galant desk and it is amazing. It is MUCH bigger in person than it looks on the website. I have so much room on this thing I can probably still squeeze in my photo printer somewhere. Its also a REALLY sturdy desk and you can raise the hight fairly easily.

I did get an extra extention on mine which made it $80 more. This desk is very easy to put together too. It didn't take me long at all.

Maya 2011.

Thank you! :) The keyboard is a Logitech Dinovo Mac Edition (They are amazing but sadly Logitech no longer makes them. You can find them though on the internet still).

To the left of the keyboard is the Wacom Intuos 4 Wireless tablet. I've used Wacoms for years and this is by FAR my favorite one. its so perfect its ridiculous. Wireless is sooooo nice on these things.

Oh, and FYI the lighting in my room is so horrible I normally keep it off. I did some major white balance (except on the last one) in order to adjust for it so the monitor screens will look a bit funky color wise.

@Strausd - You were correct on all of them! :D

Big monitors are all very well and good but you soon find you can't use anything smaller...we found that when we got a new TV :p However, I bet they look awesome.

I agree, once you go big and beautiful you cant ever go back.

and soon the 30s look small so you get two :) then they look small and you start thinking more screen real estate HOW !! :)

I know thats what I'm afraid of lol! I remember back when I went from a 15 inch monitor to a 17 inch and was amazed at the huge screen size!

I can surely imagine my eyes bleeding if I had such glossy reflectiongasm display setup.

Add me to the mix... I was mulling over 2 x 30" or 2 x 27" :confused::eek:

In the end, I do not use my monitors for color reproduction work or to make money with them. I made the decision on the following:

2 x 30" = $1799 x 2
2 x 27" = $999 x 2

Money left over to buy a third monitor once they get more in stock.... :eek:

LED vs CCFL = LED either works or it doesn't, I do not have to worry about degradation of the CCFL bulbs over time. I am sure I am being a little paranoid here and the 30" would of lasted a good time, but hey its LED :rolleyes:

Built in iSight, Speakers, and Power. Less cords. Although it blows my mind that the USB and Video cable are not longer, what was Apple thinking here :confused:

In addition, I bought them because if there is a problem, I drive less than 5 miles to an Apple Store and they can fix them there versus having to send them back to another manufacturer.

I think that is it. Here is one pic:

p.s. No yellow tinge, these displays initially appear to be flawless as the other poster said.

p.s.s. :eek::eek::eek::eek: Speakers sound amazing!!!!

:mad::mad::mad:

I have been using my 27" Cinema Display monitors for about 3 hours now and my eyeballs feel like they are on fire. :(

There are no reflections in my office only an overhead light that is slightly dimmed. I have played with the brightness on these monitors and it seems like the less brighter I make them, the hard the screen is to read. The brighter I make them, the harder my eyes hurt.
