I have three macs in the house and it is quite time consuming when each has to download 1gb updates that are the same thing.

It downloads as a DMG, so you can burn it to a disc, copy to a flash drive, or transfer it over your network. You only need to download it once.

When the update is ready it will ask your if you want to install it. Also if your running Lion, Apple now does delta updates. So they should be quite a bit smaller then in past OS X versions.
