Upgrade to 6 or 6s in the future?

I have a 5S that works fine and so far I have resisted the urge to get a 6. By the time the 6S comes out my willpower will probably fail to stop the urge for a new phone.

Thank you all for your replies, but the problem is that if i wait for 7 months, and then when its time to upgrade in September i may not get the upgrade because maybe my family will say no. So if you were me would you upgrade in march or wait in September and risk loosing your upgrade, and no one wants to wait 7 months for an iPhone.

Have you heard of the at&t next, why is it so bad?

Sounds like you've already answered your own question. I don't understand how you could "loose" [sic] an upgrade by waiting. But, you already seem inclined to make the upgrade when the window opens in March. If you're on AT&T Next, why not enjoy a few months with lower monthly payments?

Like I said, late-March is at the edge of the timeline where it starts to make more sense to wait. When you say "no one" wants to wait, keep in mind that a LOT of people would actually prefer to wait if they know that a better model is on the way. And 6 months is not a particularly long time, if you already have a serviceable phone and you plan on keeping the new one for a while.

In my case, I'm glad that I waited, because the 5s ended up being a better phone than expected. Even if the new model disappointed, the other option was the older model for $100 less.

AT&T Next is neither here nor there for me. I prefer to own an unlocked phone up front precisely because I can upgrade on my schedule, rather than being forced into these decisions by some arbitrary carrier plan timeline.

Wait for the 7 if you can. It'll be a whole lot better than the 6s (source: my secret friend who works at Apple).

What's wrong with your current phone? I have a launch day iPhone 5 eligible for an upgrade since September. However, it works fine and I am going to wait it out until the 6S/ 6+S next year at least to upgrade. If Apple fails to entice me with sufficient bang for the buck, I could even hold out with my iPhone 5 until the 7 in 2016. It's your money, you own the call. An upgrade need not be automatic.

IMO there are two types of iPhone upgraders, design upgraders and feature upgraders. I upgrade when the new design comes out, knowing full well that the 6S will undoubtedly have better features that I will have to wait until the 7 to get. Some folks like to wait until the "S" model comes out then upgrade to have the best version of the phone. Entirely up to you and your preferences.

True but remember you can pay the phone off at any time after the initial two payments are made on it.

I say buy when it is time for your upgrade! I love my 6+ and wouldn't want to wait a minute longer than I had to. Apple is always coming out with a "bigger and better" product, so don't be afraid to buy what they are offering now.

Or those who upgrade every model regardless of what it has
