What monitor are you using with the Powermac G5 just out of interest?

I plan on using dual 20-inch cinema displays with it. Presently I'll be using a 21.5 inch Samsung monitor via DVI. I would tell you model number and etc, but I'm not at home at the moment.

Fair enough and nice I'm expecting mine on Friday. I just love the case. It's not a Mac Pro but ahh well. It'll serve my purposes. :)

I know right! It really is a beautiful machine. I'm sure mine will serve my basic computing needs (iWork, iLife, light gaming within reason of the old hardware).

Is your G5 a DP or SP?

I'm getting the 2.0Ghz Dual Core. The seller's shipping it in a Mac Pro box as he bought a Mac Pro and sold off his old G5 on eBay. So it'll kinda feel as though I'm getting a Mac Pro :L

Cheers

FYI, for $100 you can buy a 1.6 G5 that will be faster in every way than your G4.

The more you invest in that G4, the worse value it is.
What about the reliability though, graphite G4s seem to just run and run whereas G5 logic boards seem to be very problematic? I would replace our G4/466 at home with a dualie G5 as they are so cheap now for the performance that they offer but have been looking at first-generation Mac Pros instead as G5 reliability concerns me, Pros are a bit pricey though even for the 2006 ones...
