upgrading from 1.1.3

I have faith.
I can leave my sim card in or remove it ?

I am downloading the file again but neither time does it load as a zip just loads like the screen shot on i clarified so i assume it has the right file ending if not where do i change that
 
Might want to download it with Firefox and Safari always wants to mount and open it right into itunes...
 
I only have firefox , is it perhaps because i am not using a mac computer?

I have followed the instructions given its just that pawned isn't recognizing the file and it looks to have the correct file ending. I am just confused now looking at a silver and black paper weight.. :(


i will continue to follow your advice and hope it doesn't all end in a flash and puff of smoke. :eek:
 
guys , i am really appreciative of your advice and links but i must ask for you to send black-rain or any other jail breaking options to my email because i am living in china and for one i can not connect to black rain with my internet the firewall of china prevents me from it. if you are able, i ask you to send it to slagco@gmail.com . i honestly thank you for all your assistance. forgive me for my ignorance and lack of access to sites which you perhaps take for granted.

For blackrain you will have to restore the iphone to 3.1.2
Download 3.1.2 firmware then put the iphone in DFU mode and hold shift and click restore on itunes. Then select the 3.1.2 ipsw that you downloaded from here:
