I am currently working on a thesis to show that global warming is being caused by the decrease in pirates around the world and have been writing software to model the situation.
I KNEW them rotten pirates were to blame! Now I have proof! Arrrggg! :D

The research is disturbing indeed. The hypothesis does completely ignore the fact that correlation does not mean causality, but I consider that line of thinking amongst my peers as outdated. My next thesis will show how the price of property is increasing with the decline of pirates and will tie the two together with irrefutable proof.

The internet is serious business. ;) But the decline of pirates is a real concern for us all.

Correlation doesn't mean causality? I think you fail to take into account the diverse culture of pirates, AKA Scuryistic society. Their influence is felt everywhere, and their reach is vast, indeed! For instance, does ISS stand for International Space Station? Or Institute of Scary Scuryists? Space pirates. The acronym itself is irrefutable proof of the absence of irrefutable proof! And is such paradoxical logic not the foundation upon which our great country was built? But I digress... If you believe Correlation and Causality are not synonymous, I suggest you take a closer look at the fundamental aspect of Scurvyistic society - Vitamin C! Both of those words start with the letter C! Case closed.:D

Any sane and logical person would at least take the time to whey the validity of differing opinions. After all, mass is non-existent without wait. Gray matter ways a lot. It's the girth that differs most.

I also have a quick question: will the 2011 iMac support 4x8 gb? or should I get 4x4? :)

Edit: Its for the larger of the 21,5" models

Apple allow only 4x4GB = 16GB. However, there's a website called macsales/owc (search Google) which creates the only RAM modules in the world that can extend this 16GB limit to 32GB by a formation of 4x8GB modules. My opinion...? There's no freaking way you need 32GB of RAM. 8GB of RAM is enough for you to run apps like Photoshop, Safari, Microsoft Office, iWork, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and even more apps simultaneously. 16GB of RAM are for really heavy architecture apps like AutoCAD and programming apps such as Maya that need to run at the same time along with Safari and many other apps. 32GB is an overkilling OVERKILL. P.S.: I would suggest 8GB for most people, so you need to get 4GB more.

640k should be enough for anybody.

OK, ok, I know it's a canard. But a 2x8 kit is under $100. Economically speaking, and considering the likely lifespan of a 2011 iMac, if I were less lazy I could make a pretty persuasive argument for just maxing it out every time. You get absolute optimum memory performance right away, which ramps down to acceptable performance as software requirements increase over time. In the end you'll have max RAM in your iMac anyway long before you replace it with the 2016 The New iMac With Retina Display And No Chin (Tm) so why not just git 'er done now and enjoy the benefits the whole time? It's like when people adopt a grown cat. Why would you do that? All the value added is when they are a kitten. Cats are jerks, and filthy to boot. Nobody wants a grown cat. A grown cat is the tax you pay for having been able to enjoy owning a kitten for a while. Don't pass up the best part of the value curve. Get 32GB of RAM. Feed your other 2x2 sticks to your new kitten.
