I too own an iPad 3 and do envy you but I will await the real deal ipad 5 come 2013.

My ipads are completely still usable and I see no point in wasting money because like how I waited for the iphone 5, it was so worth it![/QUOTE]

Agree.
If you're a casual user (reading, web, media) and I would guess 90%+ fall into that category. The extra speed is nice but not a must right now.
The real deal upgrade will be the thinner, lighter 5 in March.

IMO- If you have the 3 and sell it for the 4 you will no doubt be selling that 4 for the 5.
rule is skip a generation or you will go nuts.
some people have too much extra $$$.
spend it on content not the device.

Can people just come out and say they want to upgrade to the iPad 4 from the 3 just because they want the latest iPad. Just be honest with yourself. Why create these asinine excuses to make it seem like you "have" to upgrade and you have no other choice. It's okay to admit that you just want the latest gadget. Because if Apple were to release an iPad 5 in the beginning of 2013, then you will hear the same excuses and rationales of people who "have" to upgrade to the 5. You just want the latest gadget.

I don't feel like I'm making excuses, considering my post pretty much said exactly why I want it.

Ha...Ha...Ha... That was Funny Man ! :p

I think with the A6 processor and maybe some internal differences its going to hopefully solve the heat issue of 3. If so then its definitely worth the 3 to 4 upgrade.

iPad 4 is just a minor spec upgrade. Yea, I understand those who always want to be on the leading edge and are willing to pay for it.

My iPad 3 works just fine enough hold on to it another 6 months when the next upgrade comes. I'm ready to upgrade for the next thinner, lighter, better battery model.

Will you guys not miss the HD 720p Facetime Camera the Front Camera ? I thought that was a nice little gift Apple gave this Christmas might be handy in making those Video calls !

Makes better sense to upgrade to the iPad 4 than to downgrade to the mini. But I am worried that Apple is starting to fold under pressure by showing off the iPad 4 so soon. Got to figure that Apple had the iPad 4 planned out months before announcement and they knew sales were declining. What if Apple releases another iPad update next spring? Apple's stock price is driven off of sales and it's no surprise that we have 2 models right before the holiday. Starting to think Apple is using it's name and followers instead of innovation to sale product. Reminds me what happened to RIM.
