Can the slower computer use faster ram? I thought if the refresh frequency was too slow the memory would become unstable.

I'm guessing by the downvote that this was a stupid question and that faster will just run at the speed the memory controller gives it then.

It's what he does. I fixed it so that I no longer see the drivel he posts, unless others quote him. What gets me is if the OP would have done a search, and resurrected an old thread you would see posts such as this from the likes of him .....

OP: Upgrading memory is easy, does not void your warranty ( so long as you do not break anything in the process ). I recently installed 8 GB in my 2011 MBP I bought from OWC. Apple even has instructions on how to do the task.

Specs: 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
