I am leaving absolutely nothing out. I sold my cracked iPhone 8GB on eBay in anticipation of the 3G iPhone (using my old SIM in an LG CU500 for 3 days). The 3G iPhone pricing and plans disappointed me. I drove to an AT&T store that and was lucky enough to find a 16gb iPhone that I bought and put in my old 8GB iPhone's SIM only to have this happen. Sorry if you think I'm missing something else, but that's everything dude. Nice and concise.

Just to update, the guy I spoke to, Mark Sheets, eventually rectified this problem. I know for sure my contract end date has been corrected, but, using the AT&T website, I don't know how to check if an activation fee was charged to my account for the 16gb iPhone....Can someone please advise?

One again, brnski, and everyone else who helped me, thank you very much. Appreciate it.

No problem, always happy that I could help.

You can either call up At&t (again) and ask or you could wait until that statement posts online -- then you could see your charges for that month.

Glad everything worked out for you!

Sucks that you had to jump through hoops. I too had my original iPhone replaced and was able to SIM swap on the spot (in the Apple store) and actually start using it for calls/web immediately. All I had to do when I got home was re-sync my info from iTunes.

I've been watching this rather closely and I'm pretty impressed with the end results. I'm buying the new 3G on July 11th, and I'm handing my current iPhone to my Mom, so it'll be nice for my Mom to put her AT&T SIM card into the iPhone and activate it, then call AT&T in case something like this occurs! Thanks, she'll be really happy, as will I, come July 11th.

Good for you! Thanks for listening...
