I work at my particular hub that delivers to my house. HOLD FOR PICKUP tells the system to not route it to my normal truck, and exception the package out when it hits the scanners. From there, meander over to the customer counter and pick up my package after the shift. I get my goods just like everybody else does. UPS takes package security seriously, and I play by the rules. I won't do anything on the job that even has the appearance of impropriety.

If it gets on a truck, it's not coming off. That package goes out for delivery.

This might be a dumb question, but is it safe to change delivery to pickup at the UPS hub when the order status is still "Ready for UPS"?

Thanks for the advice i just scheduled (via online chat) to have my package sent to the closest ups customer center, where i could pick it up for the following 5 days, I was told that doing this wouldn't be a problem but if i wanted delivered to another that I would have to wait an extra business day, also she told me I could only pick it up from monday - friday 9-10 am or 5-6 pm, the times don't seem right but i'm off tomorrow so ill go in the morning

I just attempted to change delivery for pickup at my local UPS store and it says estimated delivery date is Monday when my watch is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. My watch is currently an hour away and the UPS store is 1 mile away. So I guess I don't have that option?

For what it's worth, there was some concern about UPS attempting to deliver the watch anyway, even with a request to hold for pickup at the CC.

Mine's updated to say it was actually held as requested, no delivery attempt. So I'll be leaving in about an hour to get mine when the center opens (8am).

So if mine arrived at my customer center does that mean it's ready to be picked up? I requested a hold for pick up and it arrived at my CC in the middle of the night but nothing's happening to it

Mine arrived at the CC from Louisville, but then departed an hour later. It's still "In transit" rather than on a truck for delivery. I requested pick up at the CC so I'm not sure where it went. When I clicked the change delivery button, it said it was set to deliver to an"Access Point" so I didn't go further -- I didn't want to make things worse!

However, I am not sure exactly where it is moving to. My hope is just a circuit around the parking lot and then back into the CC!

It might depend on the person/locale, but personally mine went from the green status shipping:eek:n time overnight to a yellow "held for pickup" - then the UPS app said it was available for pickup at the cc.

From what I've heard, even if it's in the CC it sometimes takes time to get packages off the truck and into the little hold for pickup area. Good luck!

Woo! Mine is being held in Gaithersburg. I'll go there after traffic dies down a bit :)

Thanks! I did this and one arrived ready for pickup at 6am and the other is still in transit. My CC doesn't open until 10am so I'm hoping it arrives by then so I don't have to go twice

This is good to know. I was wondering if it would say ready for pick up. Thanks!

I work for UPS. The origin scan is just after Apple submits their tracking numbers to us. You submitted your request to change the delivery 23 minutes after. Next up should be an origin scan - UPS actually picking up the package.

As of now, it's not even in our hands yet to move it.
