I have had that happen. Call UPS and they will contact the hub who will call the driver and tell him to go back. They returned in about 30 minutes.

Yes, do that. It works for me before. Just stick around. The driver sometime comes back and try again. But do call UPS for a redelivery. If the driver didn't leave you a note, the chances are he might be coming back again. If he gives up, he will leaves you a note with a re-delivery options.

Good luck.

The question is, what do you do to piss him off? Cars in the way blocking the street? Dog chases after him? Ignore him instead of waving?

UPS is the WORST!

I work for UPS and can tell you to call the 1-800# or your local hub and file a complaint. The driver will have to come for for delivery. If the supervisor doesn't approve of it then you can go pick it up tonight around 7:30. I know it sucks and I disagree with what the driver did. I don't want to hear anyone bash me because I work there. I am here to help.

Would there be any way to get it at 10 pm pick up? Or even rede liver it? If not, I'm getting it Monday.
I left a notice that apple gave me to put on my door. They said the manager did not approve to leave the package, even though I said to leave it hidden on the back porch. I even spoke to the delivery guy via as art doorbell. I need a signature the guy said.
What should I do?
PM me if your preference.

There's never proof of them damaging it.

The way these are packaged would make it pretty much impossible to damage the watch without damaging the packaging. Pretty sure you don't have to worry too much about it.

I have had this happen with UPS once before....Fedex it's a regular occurrence. I just learned about Fedex's Customer Advocates a few weeks ago when my driver repeatedly didn't try to deliver to me...they made him come back the same day (2nd attempted delivery day). He wasn't happy but he also didn't make the attempt so it was justified.

When it happened with UPS, I had a supervisor contact me almost immediately and the driver was back with in an hour. It almost never happens to me with UPS though which is why I prefer them. Definitely give them a call - they will resolve it for you.

I'm a UPS driver so I REALLY hate hearing stuff like this. Is it at all possible that you weren't there when he attempted it? For several reasons there could be multiple drivers in your neighborhood. One driver taking some deliveries from another, different service options may be done by different drivers. I ask because it is kinda hard for us to cheat our GPS systems. We have 2. It can be done but it usually takes more effort than the delivery attempt. Also, bagging a package is a thing that we will get fired for.
From what you said, it does sound like he just blew you off. Sorry if that's what happened.

Maybe try comparing the time of the first attempt. Maybe he was really there before you got home and the note blew away. Dunno, just tossing ideas.

I always have UPS driver problems. I've had to tell a driver to go back and look on his truck for a 2nd package when he walked up to my door with only 1 in his hand. He tried to tell me that the one was all he had for me. I had to physically show him both tracking info on my phone.... He magically found it on the truck...

Also, I do not think there is a worst UPS Distribution Hub than the one in Mesquite, TX. This is place is a bottle neck for packages....They are always a single point failure when it comes to critical packages delivering to me on time... I am dreading this whenever my watch ships....I hope it goes through Fed-Ex.

Just the opposite here. We have had the same UPS man for a while and he is awesome. He even gave me his cell so I have been able to meet him on his route to get my 6+ hours before it would have been delivered.

UPS is not perfect but most the time they ge the job done.

Same just happened to me too.. UPS changed my delivery tracking status to: The receiver was not available at the time of the first delivery attempt.. 8:23am. I was there, my wife was there, we where up and the door bell works. No sticker left.

I called UPS to make a complaint but they couldn't do much more then ask for me to go pick up at their depot.

Will make a complaint to the dispatch when they call me to confirm when I can go pick it up.

Not the first time it happens with UPS (I understand its not all drivers that are like that) but what's the alternative? Can I ask apple for a different delivery company next time?

Update!!

The driver came back at 11am and delivered my watch! :)

I never got a call back from dispatch but I guess they got it.

Good luck to all!

Sorry to hear dude. It's the driver not the service as you have stated. Fedex or DHL might do the same with heavy shipments.

Worst advice ever.

Guess what happens to your food when you complain about your waiter?

Just FYI, I've worked in the service industry for many years and not once have I ever seen anyone's food tampered with. That's one thing we won't mess around with. Giving you horrible service, making you wait for your check, etc... yes that may happen if someone's an jackhole, but we don't screw with food.
