UPS lost my phone Apple has no clue

I was pretty specific with the events that went down. you decided to make assumptions including that I was disgusted with apple because I wasnt the envy of all my friends, how exactly did you come to those conclusions?

Since you are asking me how I reached my conclusion that It seems it was more important for you to be first than to have it at all.

Plenty of people are still waiting for their order to be fulfilled yet alone delivered. People on these forums... that woke up at 3:00 AM only to get a late November or early December delivery date and are still patiently waiting. In your words "waking up at 3am to place my order and getting an 11/3 delivery date" but you decided to quit it after one mistake? You are giving up after 2 days and one botched delivery? Why would someone be so fickle?

Don’t bother with them. The same thing will eventually happen to them and then they’ll have that “aha” moment. And they’ll be the one kicking and screaming over the phone with customer service as you referenced.

So shouldn't that prove to you that getting this phone and being first is not that important to me? Not to be a jerk or anything but other peoples situations and delivery dates don't really affect me and are irrelevant to me... We are talking about 1000 devices here not starving children or something along those lines... The plight of middle class/wealthy adults is not going to encourage me to fight harder to get this thing sorry.

Hopefully it will get taken care of quickly for you. Frustrating to pay that price for something that can't be found!

Also, certain posters are the reason this forum has turned such a non fun place to be anymore. And now I'll be made fun of for having an 8+ by that poster.

Yeah i think you hit the nail on the head, what bothers me most is paying so much for something that can't be found. Glad your situation worked itself out..... I'm hoping this thing miraculously shows up at my door but not holding my breath as I've lost all faith in UPS.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have said many times the 8/8Plus/X are roughly equal. The main reason to own an X is as a status symbol as it offers few benefits over the 8/8 Plus. On the inside they have the same CPU with only marginal performance differences between them like ram or clock peed or battery life... The core features are the same and all models run the same apps without sacrificing anything. So nothing to be made fun of.

Yeah Face ID /Touch ID Debate s a thing... some people need / want the best camera... honestly theres little reason for even a 7 / 7Plus owner to feel left out.

Is that the same reason people chose the Note over the S8?

Though I would tend to agree with that statement the Note does include and allow the use of the s-pen. Although you can use a stylus with the S8, the s-pen is apparently much more precise. I can see how this feature (along with its screen size) could be an asset to consumers beyond mere adoration.

though, I would say for most it would be hard to justify the price difference for any other reasons.
 
Just wanted to give everyone (and the OP) an update. Waited all day yesterday with no movement on my UPS tracking page then called UPS again in the evening. They told me since there has been no movement since Thursday it is officially a 'lost package' and that I would need to contact Apple customer service to handle it.

Called Apple Customer Service who told me there is a shipping investigation ticket opened and that it could take up to 4 days for them to get back to me. I was pretty upset to hear this and asked to speak with a supervisor (which they had me on hold for almost 30 mins btw just to speak to a supervisor). Anyways....once I finally got in touch with one, he was pretty nice and said that he can clearly see with the tracking that I did had not received my package. They confirmed my shipping details and said that even though he could not promise anything, he would expect a replacement unit would be on its way to me within 24-48 hours. He also emailed me his direct contact number and told me to reach out to him directly if I do not see any further movement.

This morning my original package status changed to being returned to sender....if they found it why cant they just deliver it now? I'm so confused by the entire situation.

Placed the order for two phones (one SG one Silver), both shipped with different order numbers from UPS but simultaneously, then on second day both phones appeared as: Shipment In Transit - Delayed. Strange thing is soon after that the Silver got an update and now has a delivery date for Friday.
Space Grey sitll delayed with no movement since yesterday morning, status suck on:

I am starting to believe they lost my phone, I was travelling to NY to recieve it so if this happens I will be out without iPhone X indefinetly. I simply can´t belive this.

Well this really sucks, it seems I won't be getting my X after all and I already sold my S8+.

Definitely Apple, let them them liase with UPS on your behalf, there is a department at UPS that is dedicated to Apple only.

I got the same problem as you. I'm also from Houston, TX. Contacted apple through chat and will do an investigation.

Everybody I spoke to at Apple pretty much said that if the phone is returned to them I would have to place a new order and be entered in the 3-4 week wait pool. I've been very nice and polite with everyone I've spoken to since I'm not really losing it over this to be honest....I asked if they can have one sent to me or if they can arrange for an in-store pick up but no luck.... Maybe if I was kicking and screaming and being a jerk on the phone I'd get better results lol. But thats not really my style.

Good for you. It’s refreshing to read a post like this and seeing someone be calm and collected and nice. That is a rarity. I really hope this works out for you.

So Apple called me back yesterday and told me they unfortunately do not have an answer as to why the package was not delivered by UPS. They have identified me as a priority replacement and said the replacement would be on its way within 24-48 hours.

I woke up this morning to an email from Apple with a new phone on the original order which is being sent to me. It does also say "next day air" instead of the "2-3 day shipping" the original order did. The status for the new phone says "preparing to ship" so hopefully if it ships today I could potentially have it tomorrow (assuming it is shipping from somewhere in the US). If it is coming direct from China i'm guessing it might take some time....but I would hope it would come from Apple's replacement unit stock which should be here in the US.

The service manager said he would reach out to me again after everything was sorted and and basically offered to "do something nice" on behalf of Apple to make things right. He basically alluded to a free case or something for the troubles.

Did you put in a request to have the package routed to a UPS access point? I think Apple doesn't allow this and that makes UPS' system get all screwy... my friend tried doing that with FEDEX but they called him and told him it wasn't allowed by Apple.

Problem is that Fedex can. I've done this multiple times with apple product when apple uses FedEx do deliver my goods. Every time I request a hold for pick up I always get a voice message from them that cannot be done, that I had to contact Apple. However I just simply ignore the message and was able to pick it up at my local FedEx office. I've done this with the 8 plus pre order. I was able to request a hold for pick up at UPS CC without any issues.
