I got the 9/25 delivery date this year and chose in-store because I had blocked off Friday but didn't want it to be a mystery day the week after. I had the same issue. And then when I tried to complete the pre-order of course it gave me the 9/26 date. So I ended up ordering the blue 256 GB, that showed 9–26, because the color really doesn’t matter to me anyway as long as it’s not the Halloween orange. So I said, screw it and then I would get the blue one and deal with the wait. And of course, later on in the day that blue one got pushed to the 19th, happy, happy joy, joy. So my screen still showed what you showed, so I went in there and canceled my silver pre-pre-order, and I will get my blue phone on the 19th still.
Long story short, don’t worry about that pre-pre-order information, it will fall off in a few days anyway, and it doesn’t have anything to do with the phone that you actually did complete the order on. Hope that helps.

UPS requires signature upon delivery. Many people have M-F, 8-5 jobs. Therefore, you’d have to arrange some time off, and deliveries could be at any time of the day or night. It’s not about an extra six day wait, it’s about arranging schedules.

For me, this is the reason I changed to pickup on Sat 20th. My Apple Store is about 6 minutes away. For others, it can be hours away. Delivery for them is the most efficient way.

Arranging schedules? You can literally change the date of delivery…like you are doing.

Go re read the many posts. It has nothing to do with “arranging schedules”. We both know that.

I mistakenly ordered AppleCare One during my iPhone checkout, but it seems like it might be a fortuitous move. I have several devices that are on AppleCare+ and three of them add up to more than the $19.99 per month for AppleCare One.

First time I miss delivery day shipping since iPhone 5S. Managed to get a launch day pickup though but sucks I won’t get to track it with you guys this year.

Although I kind of regret not going for shipping still when it showed Sept 25 as it seems everyone got bumped to 19 :/

My config pro 512 blue still shows 9/19 express delivery but niw says 9/20 ispu - placed order at 8:03 am yesterday but saw 9/25 del date so opted for morning in store pick up on the 19th which I will keep since ups doesnt normally show until 3:30-4 pm. Tempted to change but trumbull apple stire is only 10-12 min away. Btw using apple upgrade program for 4th or 5th yr now
 
I bought the Orange iPhone Pro Max, 2TB. Looking at the iPhone Event, the iPhone really impresses as a video recorder. It’s so impressive that I wonder if it’s too much for me. I’ll have to go back to school to become a cinematographer. I also wonder how many iPhones I’d have to buy to simulate The Matrix video. Anybody here doing this sort of thing? Also, I don’t want to get a bunch of mud and stuff on my iPhone. This iPhone should last for years, but I’ll probably get the newer model next year. I always say I won’t do it, but I do.

For me the 'glitch' only shows up on my phone. I completed the pre-order on my iPad mini because it was the first to open up that morning and it doesn't show there. I only mention to show that every year there is an odd glitch of some kind. With hundreds of thousands of us trying to order at 8:00:0000000000001 am there are bound to be some weirdness 😆

I wanted to do the delivery dance because it's fun to come here and track flights with everyone but picking it up is actually easier. Lately I don't want to spend my entire day waiting for UPS to deliver at 5:17 pm or something. Since it's just a unit going to the store tho I won't be able to share in the excitement of the thread suddenly adding 10 pages of people getting UPS label alerts. Back in the day it was our Christmas for a week ☺️
 
I haven’t seen anyone else here with an October delivery date. I’m doing a carrier upgrade, and pickup is not available at my Apple Store. Would it do any good to email Tim Cook in my case?

You need to wait until they are loaded onto the plane when your tracking will show up for delivery. ISPU will not show until it reaches the Apple store.

NOTE: Some carriers will use FedEx.

Apple store orders ship UPS International Express.

BTW: my Apple Magsafe battery and bumper case just got shipped via FED-EX and arriving Tuesday:

I have totally bought into AppleCare One! My three most expensive devices' AppleCare previously was around $45/month. All additional devices are $5.99 each, which will make my new iPhone's AppleCare, which would have been $13.99 will now be only $5.99. Doesn't make sense with AirPods and Watches as they are all less than $5 already, but my MBP, iPad Pro, and Mac Studio all truly benefit significantly, as will the new iPhone!
