USA users. Can you use your iphone anywhere in the states without extra fees?

In cell phone discussions, home service always refers to a carrier's own tower coverage.

Especially when given a map link showing ATT-specific cell tower coverage (NOT landline coverage) and the post goes on to talk about roaming outside of those areas.

And exactly how many average Joes know that? Not very many I would guess.

Disinformation is worse than no information at all, and people can find these threads through google!

If someone wanders into the middle of a technical / medical / military / financial / whatever discussion, they should be prepared to do more research until they understand the terminology in use. Or at least ask about what is confusing them... instead of saying something wrong, when it's not.

Agreed, but there was no disinformation involved. Just unfamiliarity of the topic on the part of a reader.

you can use it anywhere because most if not all of the ATT plans are national plans. I've used it in places like DC and the west coast, so yeah it works anywhere in the country
