Struggling to find any of these for the new Mac Pro? Am I missing something?

i have a PCIe usb card, but I need another so this time thought I’d get a usb 3.0 one just to future proof, but can’t see any here in the uk.

Here are two. The first has a single controller driving 4 ports total (at 5 gbps each), and the second has two controllers driving 4 ports total (at 10 gbps each).

USB3-4PM-E:
USB3-PRO-4P10-E:
These are available at various outlets, so I think you'd be able to get these in the UK, but I'm not 100% sure

USB 3.0 is old (5 Gbps). Consider USB 3.1 gen 2 at least (10 Gbps).

New Mac Pro or old Mac Pro doesn't matter except new Mac Pro supports PCIe 3.0 instead of PCIe 2.0 so it can get better performance from 1 lane ASM1142 cards, or 2 lane ASM2142 and ASM3142 cards (cards that don't have a PCIe 3.0 switch).

Would this work in a 2019 Mac Pro?

will any pcie card work for me as long as it’s for mac of course?

^^^^Inateck devices are known to work in Macs. Before I switched to my current HighPoint card I used an Inateck card in my last 5,1 cMP. I went with the HighPoint due to two controllers.

I don't know if it's that exact one but I have an Inateck USB card that was in my 5,1 running fine in my 7,1.

why? every thunderbolt port on a 7,1 is also a USB3,1gen2 port

Because I need two of the thunderbolt ports for ‘thunderbolt to FireWire‘ connection for my audio interfaces.

thanks for the links etc above, really appreciated. About to pull the trigger
