I’m looking for recommendations for a USB-C charger with at least 5 USB-C ports and if it has a few extra USB-A ports, that would be okay too.

It’s needs to power my HomePod, iPad, MagSafe puck for iPhone, android phone, Apple Watch, Raspberry Pi and maybe have a Lightning cable just in case I need to plug in my AirPods.

I’m not charging my MacBook with it, so I don’t need a lot of power per port. I just need a lot of USB-C ports. I’m tired of having this huge power strip with a bunch of individual adapters plugged in.

I would prefer a brand name or at least one that has confirmed quality because I dislike sketchy chargers. I would rather pay more and get quality. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this but it’s not just for my iPhone and is going to power some non Apple products

A sea of green
What's your price range?

I have a couple of powered 7-port USB hubs made by Rosewill. They're USB-A and I've been using them for over 5 years with no problems. I've also used Satechi and Sabrent hubs and would buy again if needed.

When I search for Rosewill USB hubs, I see units with up to 11 ports, but the prices vary depending on factors other than just the port-count, hence my question about price range.

Personally, I prefer the redundancy of 2 separate hubs, so if one goes bad I'm not completely sunk.

Have you checked Amazon? I’ve got the power strip with individual chargers, but the wife’s power strip includes a couple of USBC ports too.
I’ve checked lots of stuff on Amazon. That’s where I am mailing doing my shopping. I found quite a few with a couple USB ports, but I only found one that was brand names and had for USB-C ports. I was looking at that, but it was discontinued and had some pretty negative reviews. I couldn’t ignore some negative reviews, but being discontinued to me is a red flag.

I don’t expect it to be cheap with so many ports. I found quite a few with multiple USB-A ports, but none with a bunch of USB-C. I figure it’s going to cost me at least $100 US. I’m just looking for someway to clean up the area where I charge my stuff on my desk. Right now I have a big power strip with a whole bunch of adapters plugged in.

I guess worst case scenario I could buy a USB-A charging adapter and get different cables. I could get this one and it’s at least name brand.

Edit: this wouldn’t work with my lovely Apple products that don’t have removable cables like my MagSafe, charging puck and HomePod mini 🤦‍♂️😂

I don’t understand that it’s almost 2023 and finding a quality power adapter with 5 USB-C ports is so difficult find. Most of the USB-C adapters I’m finding are more geared towards laptops versus charging things like phones. Maybe I’m not looking at the right spot though.

The challenge with so many USB-C ports is supporting higher power output on multiple ports. With the new GaN technology we should start seeing more as companies get more confident with the tech. Anker has one charger with three USB-C ports (with one USB-A) in the 7 series, then they have the 727 Power Station with two USB-C, two USB-A and two 110 outlets.

Anker 727 - https://www.anker.com/products/a9126?variant=41974284943510&ref=seriesBuy
Anker 747 - https://www.anker.com/products/a2340?variant=41974288777366&ref=seriesBuy

Those are probably the best quality products closest to what you're looking for at the moment. If you need a USB-C at the device end and only have a USB-A charge port to plug into, I suggest getting an A-C cable rather than just an adapter IF possible.

The problem is finding one with proper USB-PD PPS support and proper wattage on all ports, especially if they're all used.

4 ports only though, 3 USB-C and 1 USB-A. One of my friends have the 65W version and he seems to like it a lot.
I would avoid power-strips with USB-ports as they tend not to be USB-PD charging (aka slow charging), and their total wattage is not great. Worse, they don't usually disclose those detailed information. I have a power strip with 6 USB-A ports, thinking it would be great. But nope, it's so slow charging that some of my devices actually are not charging when I use connected many devices on it.

UGreen is an up-and-comer, I would look at something they sell as well. We use one of their M.2 enclosures at work, it's served well so far.

I would actually like something like the Anker PowerPort was. It plugged into the wall with a cable rather than directly and would stand upright on the table, like this Anker 360 - https://www.anker.com/products/a2123?variant=37436925477014&ref=collectionBuy
I would love a multi-USB-C charger like that. I have 3 of the PowerPort PD units with a single USB-C connection but will soon have four devices that can charge over USB-C.

The problem is for my case I’m not using a lot of power. That anchor 747 would be great if they put two more USB-C ports. At 150 W it’s more than enough that I would ever use. It could be 100 W and have five USB-C ports, and that would be overkill for wattage.

The 727 looks like it might work. I could get the USB-A cables and it still has two USB-C ports so that would work for my HomePod and MagSafe puck. I like it that it has two outlets as well.

Yeah, I have a power strip with USB ports for charging some things but it’s USB-A and only has two. I don’t use it for charging my phone, but rather something like my bicycle headlight that’s going to charge slowly anyway. The UGreen One looks good. I would need another adapter for some other things but it would combine a few existing adapters so that’s a plus.

I won't argue that, but so many people are looking to reduce their "EDC" weight, so having one of these GaN chargers capable of charging their phone AND computer is ideal so they need something with higher wattage.

I’ve never heard of UGreen but if their quality like Anker, or Belkin then I would buy it. The Anker 360 would be perfect if it had at least two USB-C ports

I’m not too much worried about weight, but just organization. I would like all my charging things to go into one hub ideally. It just seems like a mess having multiple adapters plugged into this huge power strip.

I was simply using the Anker 360 as an example of what my preferred form-factor would be for a charger block, seems they're going away from that.

Sadly, with a Pixel Watch coming today, I'd LIKE a solution that allows me to not have to swap cables to charge one device or another (the "puck" for the watch plugs in with USB-C), but I only have a single USB-C port on each of my current "bulk charge" units.

I get that, but they're catering to those that DO, that was my point. "EDC" meaning every day carry...

Yeah, I know. It also means that in a different (non-electronics) category. I just think it’s funny how acronyms are used for different purposes 😂

I just wish they had more products for home use. I suspect more people charge at home then charge on the go.
