I would be more careful in your place praising the new Core-M chip. Have you tested it?
Nobody knows how will it perform. We will see on 10 April, 2015.

Core M has already been used now in Lenova's Yoga tablet and has a full review of it's performance on Anandtech (a well trusted site).

I will admit, I too had assumed performance would be more in line with the Atom brand CPU. the Core M seems to be impressing reviewers. While it is not i5 level performance, it should be no slouch.

Caveat: This assumes that Apple is using the same bin number as Lenovo and also not employing any additional throttling mechanisms to control heat.

Cancelled because of Dongles

Bought two then cancelled the order because of the mess and the expense of having to use Dongles. My wife flat refused to have dongles hanging into her workspace. I write for a living and I must admit the whole dongle thing is very disquieting - particularly because of the hundreds of dollars worth of cables and adapters I already have had to purchase to run my four computers, two iPhones, two Kindles, two iPads.
No, sorry Apple, you are not addressing my needs - the computer is fine but the dongles are crap.

Ever have that moment when you're trying to upload a PDF on a web form on your iPad/iPhone and you can't - it just keeps directing you to the photos app to select an image to attach? Its moments like those that make me wish is had OS X with me in a moment instead of iOS. iOS covers me for 99% of anything I could concievable want to do when I'm on the go. the MacBook is perfect for having OS X when you need it - its the Super-iPad. All this talk of dongles and woes about plugging in multiple USB3 connections etc. seems like a waste of breath. If you're buying a computer to use with specific peripherals get an iMac or a MacBook Pro. This isn't that computer - nobody's groaning about the lack of USB on their :apple:Watch, or lack of thunderbolt on their iPhone (because that's not what those devices are for. If the MacBook is your only computer, you're doing it wrong - this guy thrives on a robust network with other Macs or as an OS X solution when you're on the go. When I NEED ports the dongle will get me through but that's not the plan. If I'm planning on a task that will require multiple peripherals I'm planning to do it on my iMac.
