USBC flash drive, storing footage from iPhone or Android phone?

If one cannot use GDrive to store the footage taken from his Android phone, would a USBC flash drive be appropriate to do so?
The fact that its a USBC flash drive, does that mean that it could also be used to store photos from an Apple iPhone?
