Use 2 Apple Watches (one day, one night)?

I have a Series 0 AW that I may keep to use at night for sleep monitoring once I get my S2. Don't really need to sell it and used prices aren't that great anyway. Please excuse the first world dilemma.

Idea would be to charge the S2 overnight on my nightstand, and wear the S0 overnight (and charge it during the day).

Will the fitness data appear seamlessly on both watches (and also in Activity app)? Same with the sleep data? Plan is to use the "Sleep Watch" app.

TIA.

Yes. This is what I was doing too. It does go back and forth seemlessly with no problems. I used the app heartwatch with mine for sleeping and had a hiccup at first, but if you have any issues with apps not working correctly doing this, delete the app from the watch, restart and reinstall and it will sync up perfectly

Ok, yesterday I decided to try and see how long my S2 38 battery will last. I put it on at noon with 100% charge. Went for an hour walk, which I tracked with Nike app and outdoor walk workout. I used each app for half of the walk, so each app was run approximately 30 minutes. I then wore the watch for the rest of the day while doing normal things, and went to bed still wearing it. I started my sleep tracking app (sleep+++) when I went to bed. Woke up around 8am and the watch was still going. It finally died sometime around 9. So the S2 38 lasts comfortably all day, but if using for sleep tracking, doing so with only one charge a day is not really doable.

I wonder if the sleep +++ app burns a lot of battery. I use Pillow and wake with around 94% on the S2 42mm after 7 hours.

I use heartwatch for my sleep tracking and it went down 6% overnight. I put it on at 1pm yesterday and im still at 68%. i guess it may depend what apps you use too. I used sleep++ and had terrible battery drain

Well, I think battery was down to 15% or even less by the time I went to bed. Tonight I'll try charging to 100% before bed, then run Sleep+++ and check how much battery is left when I wake up.

As for Pillow, I tried that app, and as far as I could tell, you need to start the app on both your phone and watch to get it to track sleep. Is that correct, or am I missing something? Sleep+++ seems to do everything on the Watch, and only uses the phone to display and edit the sleep data.

Is your watch 42 or 38?

I have the 42. The 38 and 42 shouldnt be that much of a difference in battery life

Ok, I slept with Sleep+++ on, slept for 8 hours, and battery went from 100% to 80%. Not sure if the difference is due to the app or to the difference in battery life between 38 and 42. Hm, guess I'd have to sleep with Pillow to check!

For the Sleep+++ seeing heavy drain overnight, are you putting the AW on Airplane and DND? I was astonished at how little battery it used on my S0 when I did that with Sleep Watch.

I did notice that my series 0 really started to drain faster with background app refresh and certain apps but even when all were off and disabled, it appear after 18 months the drain just started to increase a little.

Well, mine is the Nike+ (S2) I just got. I do think the battery is lasting longer than my S0. I put the Nike+ on last night when I went to bed, and it's been on my wrist ever since then without going back on charger, and I currently have 50% battery left. With my S0, it'd be below 20% by now.

All my devices are set to automatically go on DND between 12 midnight to 8 am. I never bother with toggling Airplane mode on and off.

It's no big deal if I have to charge my watch twice a day, just playing around with it to see if the battery of S2 is noticeably better than the S0.
