Ok so I finally downloaded all the programs from the site and they are all on my Windows partition in their .iso files. When I want to run them via Windows, it asks me to insert a disc to burn to. So I guess this is Windows way of making a boot disc of the file, which is equivalent to Disk Utility in Mac?

How can I bypass having to burn to disc to run the program?

As ISO is an image file (like a zip with no compression). You will need to extract or burn the contents of the ISO file to use it.

You can install Daemon-tools lite (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/products/dtLite). That will allow you to mount .iso images without burning them on cd's/dvd's.

I have no idea what an .sdc file is. MSDN images are usually .iso files.

Secure Download Cabinet. Basically a encrypted archive using LZ77 compression (I think).

The downloader decrypts and extracts the ISO (or other files) contained inside.
