OpenAI (ChatGPT company) is a dumpster fire of zero ethics.

Avoid this company the same way one avoids Meta/Facebook.

mine is just Mute all the way
The problem with having the action button assigned to mute your iPhone is that being juat another botton on the phone it is too easy to mute the phone inadvertently by pressing the action button resulting in the phone being muted without you being aware of it. I added the muting control to control center and use the action button to open the mail app. At this time I really don't have any interest in A.I. featiures.

I find it funny that everyone assumes that a company that has never made a profit (ChatGPT) is going to be more trustworthy than Google. They lost over 12 billion dollars last quarter.

I don't think their lack of profitability affects their trustworthiness, but I think their choice of CEO definitely does. Altman is swindler and a grifter. He has the ethics of a man who’d unplug your life support to charge his phone.

I think that they will be willing to sell the data to any buyer at levels equal to or greater than Google or Facebook.

"Action" button stays as mute button. But I've never in my life used that camera button in the lower right. Lets see if I can repurpose that one.

After trying out different actions, including opening up the trunk…I like the ability to put the phone on mute. That is the default action and that is where it is now.
Always have some sort of rage bait to post.

Something happened in April of 2015 that left the mute switch on my phones permanently engaged. I didn't even notice when the switch was replaced with the action button, my phones have just always been on mute, 100% of the time.

I haven't tried ChatGPT voice, but may give it a try. ChatGPT isn't an emotional support animal for me, but it's a valuable research assistant that returns results impossible with web search engines.

I use it for the flashlight. I hate the lock screen shortcut buttons since they got rid of 3D Touch. Or maybe they changed how they work at some point so you have to let go to activate. Either way if I’m in the dark I just want the flashlight without any fuss. Speaking of buttons, there’s nothing worse than pressing the hardware camera button and it says something like “press again to launch the camera”. YOU HAD ONE JOB!

I would love the option to activate this via voice (when the phones locked in my pocket and I am wearing AirPods).

Is this an official ad for ChatGPT?

You can literally set the “action button” to any iPhone app,..why a whole article?
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Odd to make an article about this. Why wasn’t it written about Gemini or Grok? Both of which are currently better than ChatGPT.!

This might be a dumb question, but what is the use case for using the ChatGPT voice mode in this scenario? Since it can't action anything on your phone for you like sending a message, skipping a song, etc, is this just to converse with it if you are doing research or having it action something else for you that isn't directly related to your phone?

Did this recently stop working for anyone else. It was working for me, but now it just opens the ChatGPT app without activating voice mode. Anyone know how to fix?
