Using a 2013 retina display on a 2015 retina macbook pro 15"

Hi, i've just recently got a 2013 macbook pro 15" and i've got my old 2015 15" wich got his screen broken, and i've tried to plug the screen to my 2015 macbook pro but it didn't work, any idea why ?? it's just doing a black screen

Thinking that this is doable only in iMac case. You can try Target Disk Mode, but not sure if this helps.

it's simple lol srry if my english is kinda ****, but i've got a fully working macbook pro retina from 2013 and i've got my old 2015 macbook pro which is not working because i've broke the screen, and i wanted to know how i can plug the 2013 retina display onto my 2015 macbook pro because the 2015 is the same screen as the 2013 but the spec of the laptop is way better on the 2015 than the 2013 so that's why i wanna get my 2015 macbook pro working

It should in theory work. Just check the cable leads are the same for both.

You can't plug them into each other, but you could "swap" the good screen (2013) for the broken one (2015). As @jav6454 mentions above, you'll need to see if the connectors match.

yeah the connector are the same but it still doesn't work, i even tried swapping the cable on the 2 but still didn't work so idk what to do, some people say that the 2015 isn't compactible with the 2013 and 2014

At this point, I'd say take it to an Authorized Shop and see if they can make it work.

2012 15” and Early 2013 15” retina displays are compatible with each other.
Late 2013 15” and Mid 2014 15” retina displays are compatible with each other.

2015 15” retina displays are not compatible with any other models.
