UT III on PS3 tomorrow! Who's going to be playing?

I'm not sure about the mod kit being on par with the PS3 one...I was reading the UT3 forums and some say theres no difference.

You can tell its made for consoles by its what I call awkward interface. I hate that crap. Game Play is what it is and thats still fun so ill wait for the Mac version.
 
I've been really loving UT3 on my PS3. Same great UT feel, just updated and on my HDTV now!

Really fun game and the frame-rate is really impressive. THe only graphically problem/bug bear is the loading in of textures as you start a level, but other than that it's great looking.

It takes a few seconds for the textures to load. Correct me if I'm wrong fellas, but if you perform a full install of the game (check out the settings menu), it speeds up the load times for textures. You still need the game disk to play, but it's supposed to be faster load times. I haven't tried it.
 
^ Really ? When I first put the game in - it installed somthing. I'll check out the menu tomorrow and see if I can find the full install option :)

I know what you're talking about. It installs some files the first time you put the disk in, but you can do a full install. Check the settings/options menu
 
3rd/2nd/top view mod is here....I've used it and I'm not going back to FPS...its brilliant.

How to install?....simple

* Download the file
* Unzip it.
* Open the unzipped folder, then drag the file called "PS3" to your USB drive
* Plug USB drive to PS3.
* Launch UT3. Then go to "My content" inside the Community menu
* Then select "Import" to install it.

If you don't want to do that then just look for a server called "3rd person" in deathmatch.....enjoy:)

I actually saw this web banner for UT3 which said "Coming this Spring" on Macworld's web page. I just thought I'd add it here since that's the only place I've heard or seen of the Spring release date. :)

Well, I just recently got back onto this game, as I had been busy with other games before.

I downloaded a whole bunch of custom maps, and I have to say, some of them are really impressive!! Only problem seems to be, I can only play them with bots, as no one online seems to have them (or want to play them?)... In fact, I really don't find that many online DM games overall these days...where is everybody?

Everyone should get all those great custom maps, they really add a lot to the game! Just got to

Here are some of my favorite custom DeathMatch maps that I would love to play online:

- Nowhere (awesome eerie scenery, and a building that can be blown to bits!)
- NecrisIsland
- FlatWars (some guy's apartment, really fun)
- Phobetor (remake from UT99...can only find it in the thread in the epicgames forum...lots of bickering in there, but somewhere towards the end, there is a link for the PS3 cook)
- Yro3
- Harbor
- Lego (COMPLETELY destructive lego scenery - really impressive!! Framerate can get choppy in this one though)
- Crimson Death's The Longest Yard 2007
- Yard-SE
- Elevation


There is also a remake of the UT99 "Morpheus" in the making, should be out in a few days.

Come on people, we have a great game and an awesome community that provides a virtually endless supply of GREAT MAPS!! Let's take them online!
